Polaris Slingshot

Post by SECoda »

They are registered as motorcycles. About $25k with a few options I would want. Two retired guys bought them at my dealership and one said it goes like a bat out of heck....

I would only get one if I won it for free. :P It would be fine for touring our Ozarks but scooters are more fun IMO.

Or the bastard offspring of a Crossbow and a Morgan.
Like all trikes it combines the worst of a car with the worst of a bike.
Only morons would buy them.
Bit like the fake Harleys in the background, who would want a fake Harley when the real ones are shite enough.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Never thought about balance. One may need to strap in a Barbie manikin.

Some states say it doesn't fit the definition of a motorcycle.
Polaris Slingshot now banned in Connecticut, too

Chainsaw, who manufactured that one in the picture you displayed? The Slingshot has more aggressive styling, but otherwise they look similar. I have seen some home builts around here that look similar. Every one of those was driven by a disabled vet. I don't see the reason for them otherwise. There are now kits that can turn big scooters into trikes, and those kits don't cost as much as a Slingshot. In fact, my wife and i agree that once we get too old to ride these beautiful little pcx 150's, we will probably buy a used triked Burgman 650. It will still be much much cheaper than a Slingshot, and there won't be as much discussion about what it is for registration purposes.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Spyder all the way! OK just trying to be patriotic to a Canadian company. Many bike stores here sell them as snowmobiles also made by BRP are what keeps them viable in winter.
