Although I haven’t tried yet, with the rounded snout to contend with, I think your approach was right. Staple snugly around the nose, pull firmly to the back, then pull the sides. Maybe 4 way stretch vinyl will work out easier.

We used a level on the seat at riding height and put 1/2-3/4" more foam on the 'snout'.
Never slide forward again coming to a stop. Tried to stretch the new fabric but wound up having
a pro do it.

I decided to have a go at a very minimalist approach to 2010-2013 PCX de-humping.
All it needs is pieces of cloth, foam, whatever small scraps you have to hand. These bits are fed through the two holes in the seat cover to pack the space around the two humps.

First, fill the ‘valley’ between the plastic humps (shown from underneath) with pieces of fabric and pack down firmly.

Then fill the spaces as evenly as possible between, behind, in front of, and at the sides of the two humps.

Finish with pieces of cut foam.

A very positive and comfortable first test run. I’ll see how things are from here. But at least it cost nothing other than some time.

For the time being I’m going to leave the two holes as they are, so that I can adjust the padding if I need to. Once/if I’m happy with the result I’ll stick a couple of patches over them.
