My other bike
She is a 1981 GT250 X7. Have had it under my house for 7 years and decided to restore it, has been a slow process over 10 months. Attached is how she looks prior to me starting the wiring and minus the tank
Only just got her started today, had some trouble getting it to run on both cylinders this morning. Turned out some mud wasp decided to make a nest in one of my freshly rebuilt carbies. Compressed air fixed that and she fired on both cylinders, here is a video. Needs some more tweaking yet, bogging a bit off idle. Sounds brilliant!

I bought the PCX to use while I finished building this, looks like it will be done sooner than later. Then I just have to decide which to ride

Re: My other bike
They look really nice in one piece:
I've considered getting a classic style bike like a Braaap Mercury 250 or spend up on a SR400, but they all cost so much and go so slow...

Nice!
Are you going for a cafe racer look? I hope i can built one someday.
I'd say ride your PCX for daily commuting and stuff then take out this beauty during the weekends to show-off

Mayhem stop! It'll mess you up!
I had one of those demons back in the day and it's fearsome, about yanks your arms off. In typical 2 stroke fashion nothing much happens until you hit the powerband and then ..Whoaaaaaaaaaa..LOOK OUT, I'm not kidding, I've had a Honda 900, an FJ 1200, Shadow 1100, and several other bikes and nothing took off like a scalded Cat like that bike! Since the 1980's several young men are resting in their graves and there was even talk of banning them.
Seriously though, if you're an experienced rider and get to know the bike you'll have an absolute blast!

A friend of mine asked me to look after his when he was in the RAF.
Hehe. Not as powerful as some of the other 250s but much lighter.
Re: My other bike
Is it the same engine as the fabled RGV250?

Not the same engine as the RGV.....
But on a side note...Aprillia RS250 share the bottom end with the RGV250.
