get more rear view in mirrors

Post by fish »

If you loosen the two small bolts (7 or 8mm?) holding each brake handle/brake fluid reservoir in place....you might be able to slide this out on the.handlebar and gain some extra imaging in your mirrors. Do not bind the levers or over extend the brake lines...but I gained an extra half inch with my mirrors...and it made a difference! I also leveled my reservoir and now get a more accurate bubble in the check window.

I may have to try that...

Doing that will probably give you the same results as adding the Givi kit that moves your mirrors out about 2 or 3 inches. I have the extenders on both of our bikes and it makes a world of difference. You can actually see something other than yourself once they are moved outward!
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Mel, the only difference is the kit costs, while the position adjustment doesn't...

And some of us think the extenders look goofy.
I replaced the Forza mirrors with OEM Honda CB500X mirrors....which look exactly like the Forza mirrors but with effectively longer stems. Results look stock/OEM. Honda shoulda' used them on the Forza !!

Here is a side-by-side of the stock Forza 300 mirror (top) and the stock CB500X mirror (bottom). It was a very easy swap, but not free (as sliding the hand control units would be).
Current ride: 2014 Forza bought new in mid-2015 with only 15K on the clock
Traded in: 2003 GL1800 with 152K and several IBA rides on the clock
6 other previous bikes
nearly 3/4 million miles logged
now just commuting instead of touring

Sliding things around is free, but gains you only fractions of an inch..
CBX mirrors give much better view.

I agree, but if your cheap just bend the stock forza mirrors in a shop vise.

I like those mirrors though... Do you have a photo of the back (non-mirror) side?

Or you can just cut the OD 3/8" pipe and add a 6" 3/8 ID pipe like I did. I also painted it black so it looks factory.
