PCX No Start/Headlights work

Post by anadivine »

Hi guys,

My PCX150 just won't start after parking for 5mins to pick stuff up.

Head lights work,indicators work.

No ignition noise, it is like trying to start the bike with its side stand down.

EO is new, checked the spark plugs and changed to a new one, checked side stand, checked battery voltage with a multimeter, checked the fuse, checked the contact points on the ignition button.

Before I tow it to a workshop, any other ideas on what might be the problem?

Many thanks!

Kill switch (If it's got one. Only on US bikes, everyone else has start stop)
Side stand down or bad switch
Left brake lever switch

Was it running ok before you stopped?

yes no signs of any problem with starting the bike before that. always first try.

Kill switch (If it's got one. Only on US bikes, everyone else has start stop) - I don't have this
Side stand down or bad switch - tried unscrewing the switch and turn it manual but did not check the connection
Left brake lever switch - how do I check this?

Solved it guys. A guy from my local pcx club suggested I check the connectors(wiring) behind the headlight area. I pushed the connectors together as firmly as I could and voila starts like normal again. You can reach them without removing anything, just reach in from the front wheel area. Closed!

If I were you I would check that connector when I got home to see why it came loose. The connectors are suppose to click into place, though the one going directly onto the light doesn't . However, the clip itself should be hard to remove, which means yours was not fully connected in the first place. Make sure it is not easy to pull off or this will happen again. If you are very careful you can crimp the contacts a little tighter with a pair of pliers.
