LOOKING FOR BRIGHT LED LIGHTS FOR DRIVING LIGHTS

Hello: I mistakenly posted this in general. I am looking for some type of bright white led lights for the front of my PCX 150. I was recently reading a post where someone used what appeared to be a spare plug on the front of the scooter. I will be dammed if I can find the post again. Does any one have any ideas where it may be. Thanks

Doubtful. The reflectors are different, so even if you could transplant the bulbs and their mounts, they wouldn't project properly.

I just got an email from am electronics surplus place, and one of the items on sale is a pair of LED lights. I don't know as I really want to go into the wiring and trouble of adding extra lights, but I know some of you are adventurous. Check these out:

I tried replacing the stock bulbs in my 2013 PCX150 with a pair of LED's I bought off eBay (not HID's), and just COULD NOT twist the bulbs out of their holders. Arms are too short, muscles are too weak... either way, I'm having my dealer do it for the 2,500 mile service (which will likely be a 3,000 service when I get there!).

Well I am in the process of setting up some lights that like Maddiedog has, except the the light on the right side will not be as bright so that I can aim it toward the shoulder of the road where the white line is. That way I will be able see the side of the road as well as straight ahead. Thanks, Dave, for the idea. It is a great place to put the lights, and the scooter definitely needs better lights for night rides.

Ah yeah, these are like the xenon ones i can find in the UK, i'm purely looking LED to reduce as much wattage as possible. Hopefully i'll have some information from my contact on the 24th.

Why do you feel the need to reduce the wattage?

I know it will make no difference as the battery and alternater / stator thing is ample for running the kit it has however there are a few reasons i want to make the change. some rational, some not

I prefer a cleaner crisper light offered by LEDs
I don't like the look of yellowy standard bulbs
LEDs generally run cooler (due to the heatsinks)
Reduce the wattage - no reason other than being OCD about electricity (all bulbs in my house are LED)

I guess in future it would also allow overhead for me adding additional electronic accessories such as phone charger, Under bike LEDs, toaster etc.

Nothing wrong with that, me too.
A bikes alternator will kick an amount of amps at a given rpm, any not used is dumped by the rectifier/regulator as heat. I also have a Honda VFR 750 which are famous for burning out these components. On these it is best to run all the lights and other electronic gizmos to try and take the load of the reg/rectifier. I get the impression that Honda reg/ rectifiers are not the best on the market.

Its not really a problem, but what amps are not used are dumped by the reg/ rectifier in the form of heat. Just remember the alternator produces a certain fixed (at a given rpm) amount and after charging the battery and running anything that is switched on, anything else has to be got rid of.

You will not overload the other components as they only use what they need.

They do have a certain notoriety. Cam chains wouln't be a problem..

Agreed! I'm more likely to electrocute myself, so if this is a simple wiring exercise, I'd love to know how it's done so I can install them on my own!

I find the LED lights from ADVmonster to be the best deal. I have them on my CBR250R.
