New rear tyre

Post by gn2 »

Fitted a new rear tyre, another Dunlop ScootSmart.
£50 delivered and £10 to local tyre fitter for fitting to loose wheel and balance.
Original one lasted till 7400 miles but probably should have been changed sooner.
Wheel removal is really simple.
I undid the caliper mount bolts, but it may be possible to get the wheel out with the caliper still attached to the A-bracket.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Anybody know where I can get the ScootSmart tire here in the USA? Having a hard time locating a 140/70-13 rear tire.

We put the Michelin City Grip on ours. It is a beautiful tire! It sticks to the road where my IRC would slip. We bought them online and brought them to our local dealer to be installed. The cost of the tire was $56 total, that included shipping.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Ewan McTeagle would be proud...

Put a Metzeler FeelFree rear tire on today. 5400 miles on the original ScootSmart and the belts were peeking through.

Here is where we got our City Grip tires. We even bought one for my Burgman from them, when I had my Burgman. The prices are great and shipping was quick and free. We ordered it on a Sunday and got it the very next Wednesday!
