Engine cover?

Engine cover?
Just wondering is there normally some kind of cover over the top of the engine where the fuel injection bit and everything is or is it normally exposed? I was looking under my bike earlier and it was the first time I ever noticed it all that stuff under there.

Hi
Once the underseat compartment is removed, you can see that the engine / ancillaries are fully exposed. This is what my 2012 PCX125 was like when I did my 5000 mile valve check ......
