It's an 8mm allen wrench....and I have the washer directly under the black extension base to 'lift' the allen bolt a touch so it does not bottom out in the threaded part of your scooter. I noticed a split washer in the pack already, are you saying use one with each section? ie. where you bolt onto the bike and again where the mirror stem connects to the extender?
Also after a very quick look at the packs last night I noticed the hex/allen bolt head is quite large, any idea of the size you used as I'm positive I don't have one that large

Yes, the first thing I do with a new bike is fit some mirrors that work! At my age, (&at the speed I ride)most of the exciting stuff is happening behind me. All the mirrors look cool on the showroom floor ....very few of them work as intended. Glad you're safer now! He cut the mirror arms, cut a piece of aluminum tubing, slid both parts of the mirrors into the tubes, added epoxy and some paint.
