Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences
Roger that, understood. Oh yes and I see there was a PCX that finished 22nd in 2012 ! http://www.scootercannonball.com/results/2012Updates.php I'd love to do that but need to reverse age at least 20 years ..... it would be great if someone(s) on the forum can participate in 2018. http://forum.scoote...

Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences
Thanks for bumping this thread, seriously great reading. I followed guys riding the scooter cannon ball back when I had a 2 stroke Vespa and some people were going from Nome to New Orleans .... I think the cannon ball is every 2 years and scooters have a max wheel diameter of 10". But I may be ...

Re: Well... I dumped it.
I don't think this damage is going to stop me from washing my PCX every night. Interesting how technology changes and how associated maintenance changes. So far, I've never washed a MC or scooter, only wiped them down with wet towels and then dried them, and maybe waxed them annually. Buts that's b...

Re: New Member from Pennsylvania
hanks for the replies! My wife's nephew had a motorcycle accident up there when he tangled with a wild cat of some sort, and their family has gone through multiple cars thanks to uninvited deer landing on their cars. Even those deer whistles don't seem to stop them. I could not imagine what it would...

New Member from Pennsylvania
I think I should have introduced myself earlier before starting to reply/ post on various topics. So thank you everyone for being accepting, I'm really glad to be here. I've been riding for @50 years, I'm now a retired guy, and am totally amazed how capable and versatile the PCX is. I've only put 50...

Re: Tappet Nut lost...
Honestly, I've never used a torque wrench to adjust valves anyway, I probably erred on the heavy side, never had any work loose. On some engines, gaps would get tighter when then nuts were tightened even though the screw DIDN'T turn any. So, we'd back the screw out 1/8 turn after getting a good gap....

Re: Tappet Nut lost...
I'm not a professional, so what I'm adding may not be absolutely correct, however..... I'm a new guy just trying to help but not make trouble ..... The ability to apply a torque wrench to this lock nut is tricky. Even the SM shows a 9m box end wrench on the lock nut. So how did you achieve the 7 ft ...

Re: Tappet Nut lost...
would at least do a complete oil drain, look for weird metal chips or the nut. I'd also check the strainer. There's a bit of a cavity below where you take the strainer out also. Good idea. Also thats a great video that shows all the hiding places in the head. If you can't find it anywhere ..... may...

Re: Tappet Nut lost...
I wouldn't run the engine until it was found. I assume the nut could have been caught by the cam chain and deposited wherever - and damaged whatever already - is that correct?
(I'm a new member here and have worked on plenty of engines but not a PCX.)

Re: Overfilled my coolant reservoir
Yeah, 5k service was just a simple change oil. No other check whatsoever. Didn't even bother to clean the oil screen even after I requested for it. I'm taking mine back for it's first service shortly. In order for me to check if they cleaned the oil screen, can I remove it to verify/ clean it - and...

Re: Do you hit the corners hard? Go around turns fast?
I worry about myself sometimes because I really like to hit the corners hard. I will come up to them fast, and then break, and then gun it again 1/2 to 3/4 through the turn. I've been riding for 50 yrs, everything from Norton, Triumph, BSA, old shifty 2 stroke Vespas, dirt bikes, you name it. I bas...

Re: PCX seat hump removal
I'd appreciate some comments / advice on this ...... It turns out that rotating the clamps and levers "up" results in a false "high" fluid level in the master cylinder's sight glass because of the change in it's tilt. So, I'm thinking to just leave the fluid "as is" wit...

Re: PCX seat hump removal
Also, (I'm sure this has been discussed before) I just rotated the handle bar forward until the "riser" section is straight up, doing this moved the grips forward quite a bit, changed the reach - and therefore my back's angle considerably. I also had to loosen and rotate the clamps for bot...

Re: PCX seat hump removal
Okay, I like this post a lot. I've completed the humpectomy, but I still have a little problem with the seat. I need to sit back a little further than "normal" because I need to keep my legs a bit straighter due to knee issues. I've looked at aftermarket seats, and they still use the same...

Re: Air Filter question
Hello, first post here ... glad the group exists. Thought I'd add that almost all dirt modified, sprint cars and etc race cars use oiled K&N or similar oiled filters, their engines cost easily $25k-$40k. Not saying that we should on our Hondas, but these filters are designed to outperform other...
