Re: Seeking Advice: Mechanic Frustration

Mechanical stuff is all bout being in the zone.
If you're not there don't go there.
When to call it quits? I don't think anyone can answer that question but you are on the right track, you hit the wall, and will probably will not go down the same road again.
I think maybe you figured out on your own.

Re: Game On! Last Song Word is Yours

Speaking of riding through time and running down the road-sounds good to me but must admit I'm like the old dog that is tired of playing fetch
and just want to take it easy.

Re: Is it reasonable to take a PCX on a cross country trip

You'll find all the preparations will leave you one or two short and will leave pissed off along the way. One one piece of advice though when riding with another rider go your own pace,
things can happen in a spit second and a green light for one is a red for the other.

Different worlds

A couple days ago was sitting on my bike waiting to turn left onto the hwy a bmw 1000 pulled up alongside and the rider gave me a nod-told him he had 850 more cc than me-he laughed The light turned green and I was able to match him for 20 ft-being automatic-then he was gone pulling a wheelie in the ...

Was in Singapore 2000. If you put 51000 km on your bike riding around on that tiny island you must know it well.
Remember a taxi driver telling me how fast things were changing there back then.

Re: How many riders do not carry tire repair kits?

Me either no tools at all.
Back in the days of tube tires had a piece of wire stuck in the tire that would keep poking a hole in the tube.
Took me a few tries to figure that one out.

Re: I have to change the tire valve stems

Personally I would take the adapter off after using-just something else to leak. Guess everyone knows to put a little spit on the end of your finger and then over the schrader valve to check for bubbles and leaks. Quite often when checking pressures or adding air the valve can stick, just push it in...

Re: Unretired from retiring from motorcycles

You got me beat too. One 1971 CB350 and one 2013 PCX. Not that I didn't lust for the odd Triump,BMW, Ducati or even CB450 double overhead cam scrambler in those 42 years. Trucks took up most of my time- driving and maintaining-trying to make a buck. Instead of 18 gears, diesel and big heavy tires and...

Thanks RuffStuff didn't know such an animal existed. Just last week went through the same frustrations vito explained.
Going to check out my local bike shop and see if they have something similar on the shelf.

Delivered a load of topsoil today to a couple young ladies creating a garden to plant some stuff to eat and contribute to the local food bank.
