A couple days ago was sitting on my bike waiting to turn left onto the hwy
a bmw 1000 pulled up alongside and the rider gave me a nod-told him he had 850 more cc than me-he laughed
The light turned green and I was able to match him for 20 ft-being automatic-then he was gone pulling a wheelie in the process.
Old guy on a scooter-young guy on a super bike I guess I'm going to be left in the dust.
The next day by chance on all girls garage they were talking about that same 1000 bmw-turns out they are computer controlled allowing all kind of stunts without getting
yourself in trouble. Didn't sting so much after that

We just sold my wife's 2013 PCX 150. I pampered it and even waxed it before the guy picked it up. He called me a hour after riding it to his office. It wouldn't start. Battery dead. You can't control everything, and as uncomplicated as the PCX is, things can still go wrong. As much fun as the guy had riding it to his office, its the little things that can stop the fun.

(I gave him my Battery Tender Jr. and told him to charge it overnight. Then ride it to the local dealer and get a new battery. I would have taken the battery out of my bike and given it to him, but he didn't know how to change the battery...so he may as well take it to the dealer. I also reminded him to have them check his tire pressure. I had already changed the oil and filled the gas tank. I couldn't do much more than that.)

That was a major event in your lives.

It must have been very difficult for you and your wife to decide to sell it . . .. I know you've mentioned she's had her health challenges recently.

Sounds like you had all shined up and ready for it's new owner. I wouldn't worry about the battery thing. When they don't get ridden much the batteries tend to fade as we all know. Nice of you to offer to let the guy use your charger. He'll survive and learn the ways of the PCX or pay the dealer mechanics to administer the skills he doesn't acquire moving forward.

You have pictures of days gone by with you and your wife out riding right? So you can always look back with a grin whenever you see them . . ..

My wife is still a little sad but selling it was the best option. She rode very little last year, and now her hands swell unexpectedly, which also prevents her from riding. Selling it was hard but necessary.

She looks at the pictures from past rides and sadly replies that she will miss the rides we enjoyed so much. Well, I am sure that my day will come soon enough, and then we will both look at the pictures and remember the fun. Once riding is in your blood, it never leaves.

Mel, sorry to hear y'all sold Freddi's scooter. Lots of good memories on that I'm sure.

If you ever are in the mood for a ride some weekend, don't hesitate to text me. Maddie's too old to ride nowadays, but I'm still down for a ride. COVID means we'd have to social distance and all that nonsense, but it'd still be a great time!
