Re: So, how'd that engine mod work out for you?

I won't "mod bash" but this scooter's performance even with my minor mods provides questionable long range or frequent freeway performance with me as a 150lb rider and no cargo. I think if you're frequently encountering hills and since you wegih 200 and take 25-30lbs cargo...you can sweat ...

Re: 2011-13 Reflector Mask.

I used black vinyl decal material cut to fit. But, I think if I did it again, I'd just mask it off, sand and paint. Would be much simpler. The decal is peeling as it can't hold the angle it's on. Not bad enough now to merit peeling it off and painting yet, but once it is, I'll do something about it....

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

A swivel (universal) socket extension 1/4" with the 8mm socket and then a 6in or longer 1/4" extension bar. I peronally thought about drilling a hole long enough to feed the socket through the bodywork. On a black bike this would be no problem, but on a white one, would be a bit unsightly....

Re: Which mods to get?

I wish I had a proper camera to document my speeds. I reach them relatively easily around here, but not going to lie, headwinds and hills dont help. I would think that everything I mentioned before about it only being a 153cc machine should be common sense to anyone trying to achieve higher speeds o...

Re: Which mods to get?

Maybe part of the reason I get higher speeds is due to at least 3 maybe even up to 7 different factors. 1) My relative light weight at 150lbs 2) The fact that I don't wear my motorcycle gear anymore (heavy and acts like a sail, I used to be a gear Nazi!) 3) When I am attaining the higher speeds on a...

Re: Which mods to get?

Weight uphill matters, on a flat or downhill not a big deal. Don't laugh off 5lbs though. But if you're not a believer, that's ok. JUst remember to upgrade to a Li Ion battery when your OEM battery goes out. Regarding top speed, again, it's not what you need it to rev limit at, it's whether or not y...

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders

Top speed on the stand is approx 3mph higher than actual rev limited top speed on the road, even on a downhill from all my testing.

Re: Which mods to get?

We really don't know why the NCY drive face increases top speed above what the NCY vario adds as was stated by one user. The only explanation I can think of is that it is shaved down at the boss so that it fits closer to the moving pully of the vario. Which would create a slight misalignment. Not g...

Re: Which mods to get?

A heavier flywheel will never benefit accel. Well, in very odd instances, like in a car dropping the clutch on a launch, but no help on the PCX. You're still down 6mph or so on the top speed due to the lack of a NCY or advance pro drive face. Mix and match on those not a prob to me assuming the adva...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Well, I would make sure they give you an itemized bill for the labor. Sounds like you're providing all the parts. They need to be able to show you the labor rates for each job like I mentioned above. I would dispute that when you pick up the bike. Maybe even call another dealer in another state and ...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Seriously though, I used to be a motorcycle mechanic. An oil change should be .5 hours, Vario and clutch change maybe 1 hour, exhaust swap .5 hrs. So at the most, you should be paying for 2 hours of labor. Maybe a bit more with the tq driver but man...best of luck. Because really, if you want to mak...

Holy crap, $600! Dude, buy my ticket out there and I'll do it for free! I could seriously do all that in an hour or less. SMH. Are you sure that's not a typo and supposed to be $60? Cause that sounds more like it.

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Valiant, how much do you weigh? Also, when going up long grades, for peace of mind, use higher octane fuel. Higher octane fuel lowers the combustion temps by taking ever so slightly longer to burn protecting your motor from detonation. If our engine's computer is sophisticated enough to retard ignit...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

They tested the SMAX around where I live and I think they mentioned topped out downhill in a draft at 84mph (article below doesn't mention if that's PS verified or not...I highly doubt it's hitting 84mph!) It's obviously got a more aggressive tune/setup, but it also weighs more by 45lbs or so, and g...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

I don't really like the idea of a big bore kit on a 2015 since they're using a smaller throttle body than the 2013. Yeah, don't change the cam...what Sendler said above. Things you can change for speed...vario, drive face, and swap the final drive gear from the 2013 model (53t vs the 2015's 54t gear...

Re: Homie was right!!! 13g better than 12g rollers!

Your mention of "wheelies" reminds me of a video with a guy doing spins and loops and wheelies on his scooter. He treated that scooter like a skateboard. It was on a tv show... i don't have a link. One thing that's been bugging me: Wouldn't an aftermarket clutch & clutch bell be neces...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Post them for sale and I'm sure someone in the USA will buy them. Yeah, someone here prob will. If the price goes high enough I'll start removing them off my bike! Lol. And yes, to Clarify Sendler, 4-5mph for the vario, 5-6 mph for the drive face. For a total of 11mph gained with both pieces. I hav...

Re: 2015 pcx150 performance thread

Parts are on their way What is your plan? I did a variator face, DR p sliders 14g and one more thing,. I changed the 54 tooth gear in the tranny to a 53 from a 2013 PCX150. It works. I'm getting 7 more MPH with this total set up. Am trying different things now. will get a performance variator and t...

Re: Homie was right!!! 13g better than 12g rollers!

And yes Homie, the 2015 will always be slower by 3mph due to an internal gear difference. Back to top speed for a moment. Vamootsman and I run a similar setup, although I think he is heavier than me, runs a tall windscrren and a top box, and lives in a colder climate with somewhat higher elevation (...

Re: Homie was right!!! 13g better than 12g rollers!

SO SORRY GUYS! I've been away obsessing over car parts for my turbo Subaru and spent 3 days in the last week under my car putting on go-fast goodies! Currently, my car is sitting on the dyno awaiting a software update for the tuning software where I'll be at double the factor HP and tq on my WRX whe...
