Re: Adjustment procedure for rear shocks on Honda Forza 300?
It can be done with a really big set of channel lock or water pump pliers. There is, however, an official Honda tool for the task. It is a two piece spanner wrench that assembles at a weird angle. It is STILL a PITA to use since the handle is short for the force required, but at least you don't have...

Re: Check engine light PGM-FI
Hi smrbike - I had a no start episode a couple of years back. Eventually I got to the point of checking the ECU. In doing so, I had to unplug and replug the multi-pin connectors. I have not had a problem since. Obviously I can't say for sure that this is your problem, but it may be something to chec...

Re: Aftermarket seat for Honda Forza
The seat looks like a really nice job, and I think you ARE a bit further back than I ended up. The Admiral was having none of my sneaking into her territory. The price you got is actually pretty amazing to me. Admittedly, I added gel packs for both myself and the pillion, and had the fancier multi-p...

Re: Ethanol on the rise BEWARE
Ethanol in fuel attracts no more water into the fuel system than fuel with no ethanol. Hate to disagree, but, putting on my chemical engineer hat, ethanol is far more hygroscopic than gasoline, and will actively pull water vapor from the air. In the old days we would add ethanol in the form of &quo...

Re: 2017 runs rough during low RPM
Pure speculation, but if they replaced the Engine Control Unit (ECU), it has to "learn" your environment and driving style. Wait a week (or 250-300 km) before panicking, but if it is still an issue, go back to the shop. It might, however, be a good idea to alert them to your issue pretty m...

Re: Forza 300 seat mod
Very nice. I didn't mess with the pan since I also ride with my wife, and she was not interested in me getting any of her "turf". I went back as far as the hump, but that was enough (along with some extra height/padding).

Given a one year warranty here in the US, that's not a lot of grease.

Re: Front fork specs
On my 2013 the upper tube measures around 1.219-1.221 inches (30.96 mm or so). Take it with a bit of salt - It is hard to be sure that caliper hasn't changed while I removed it to read.

Re: First PCX125 Ride......at last
Congrats on the ride and the recovery. I know what you mean about a paper manual. Even if it is a PITA (like the "official" Honda manual, flipping ages like a madman trying to get the plastics off), having something to look at that doesn't fade out or flick to another screen on a whim is j...

Re: It's Electric!
This looked pretty interesting: https://electrek.co/2019/05/08/gogoros- ... ble-packs/
As usual, no US availability, and no info on cost, but a 50 MPH electric scooter would be better than a 30 MPH 50 cc.

Check the curves on that building. While is looks awesomely cool, it also looks like a parabolic collector, and probably has a focal point that wasn't thought out very well.

Re: Back Again
Interesting point. In my car, once the car is going, it stays going, but when you shut it off, it will not start again until the key is within range. Someone could get pretty far away and make the scoot pretty much un-relocatable, but at least the thief would be annoyed. Better than nothing, I guess.

My '63 Chevy didn't look that good in 1971. You didn't get much from a 1 dollar car from a relative in those days.

I would like to improve the mirror view, but $120 for the cb500 mirror set seems pretty pricey. Growl.

Re: Back Again
Given how brazen the attack on Hax was, I don't know if I would want to be around when the thief found the scoot would not work. A remote, cell phone operated kill switch that you could activate a few minutes after the fact would be nicer than having an armed individual saying "Make it work. No...

Re: overfilled oil and old oil
Wow - I can't see how it could ever get that overfilled. Good thing it was on your hit list.
I am no expert, but your oil choice seems perfectly fine to me. I think most of us just use what didn't go into the oil change as the fluid for the gearbox.

And use your savings to snag a decent motorcycle jacket, boots, gloves, and maybe riding pants (kevlar lined jeans or whatever).

Have you guys thought about mounting deer whistles? I have a cousin up in wilds of New Hampshire who swears by them.
