Re: Greetings from Slovakia !
Welcome. Where do you live in Slovakia? About 15 or 20 years ago we had 4 boys from Kosice stay with us for a few days. They were from a boys soccer team that was playing in the USA Cup, a youth soccer tournament.

That sounds like a plan.Mel46 wrote:Oh heck. I was hoping we could combine gangs and ride to Washingto as the 'Vespa & PCX Highway Zoomers'. :-) Our slogan will be "Get out of our way or we will honk"....maybe not the best slogan. Guess we will have to work on that.

Re: If you live in the USA, you are on a FBI gang list.
The address I posted above does not work, but go to the Washington Post web site and search " fbi admits motorcycle gang list" however according to Snopes the posting is a fake. Too bad I was feeling dangerous for a little while.

If you have to to register your scoot as a motorcycle in your state, the FBI has you on a gang list.http://www.washingtonpost.com.co/fbi-ad ... gang-list/

I got a package of two from the bicycle department at K-Mart that have small batteries and red lights that come on with centrifugal force.

Re: How cold will you ride?
42 degrees F today. First ride since November. All the snow finally gone from the streets but still a lot of sand. I saw 4 motorcycles and one other scooter. We all had smiles.

Re: How cold will you ride?
Yesterday it got up to 28 degrees F. It's surprising how warm that feels after weeks of temps near 0. It's back down to 8 F today and not getting back to the 20's until Saturday. I thought of putting the battery in and going for a ride yesterday but because many of the streets still have large spots...

Re: How cold will you ride?
It's 17 degrees F. out right now. We received about 13 inches of snow over the night. Unable to go to work and my Husband decides to go for a ride. Well, tries anyway. http://youtu.be/8dJcdFHT2ek We have the cold here but not the snow. Just enough snow to make the streets too slick to ride but not ...

Check the laws in Oregon. Wisconsin allows you to go through red lights when your scooter doesn't trip the signal.

Re: User Names?
Two sources. I am from Wisconsin, my wife is from Chicago. Mike Royko, a Chicago newspaper columnist, referred to people from Wisconsin as rustics. Also a line from a song from one of my favorite performers, Webb Wilder, is "Please don't misinterpret my rustic charm."

Re: How cold will you ride?
The past two days have been at or near 50 degrees F and the snow is gone from the streets but the battery remains on the trickle charger in the basement. It is in the upper 20's today and the temperatures are supposed to get near 30 by the weekend , I was tempted to go for a ride but common sense pr...

Re: How windy will you ride?
Riding around in town I don't go above 30 mph and I haven't yet reached my upper limit of wind speed. One day while riding on highways I encountered sustained winds of 30 mph with gusts much higher than that. The speed limit was 55 mph but I slowed to about 30. I was comfortable at that speed but I ...

Re: prepped for winter
There are still icy spots on the streets and the latest 10 day forecast has no highs getting out of the 20's F. I have given up hope of any more riding until spring so the battery will be moved to the trickle charger in the basement today. I wish I had some place other than the garage to store the s...

prepped for winter
Barely into November and I have prepared the scoot for winter. The local forecast is for 6 - 12 inches of snow tonight through Tuesday and the turning cold. Predicted highs for the week are in the low to mid 20's with lows in the 10's. Yesterday I put gas stabilizer in the tank and then rode to gas ...

Re: How cold will you ride?
13 degrees F. is the lowest temp that I have ridden in. I probably would go lower but there has always been snow on the ground when it has been colder than that. Dress in layers and make sure outer layer is wind proof and good thermal lined boots and all is good.

We had just of 1/2 inch of snow here last night. Gone by early morning but I hope this does't mean we will have a winter like last year.
