Re: Rain Riders
I leave my bike outside, uncovered. No problems until a couple months ago, it rained pretty hard outside... and then my dash light kinda started randomly going out a couple times until it wouldn't light up anymore. I'm sure that's not a cheap fix! For what it's worth, on a few occasions I've seen a...

Re: New front tyre - then two other things to replace . . .
Just looking at variator drive faces and shocked at the price difference here (UK) compared to US - and all the different part numbers across the years Honda use for what looks like the same part. Are there any real differences I wonder? The Face, Moveable drive 22110-K36-A00 $15, 22110-K97-T00 $17...

Re: Rain Riders
Thanks..........but the 2013 PCX headlight has a Halogen bulb. Here's an eBay link that shows the Chinese version. Good price, poor results. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=2013+Honda+PCX++Halogen+headlight+bulb&_sacat=0 Appreciate though. Know ...

Re: New front tyre - then two other things to replace . . .
Wonder what adjustments can be made? Thought it's roller bearings or such around the stem and it's tightened to the frame. I don't know that area of the bike too well, but I assumed that it was - in essence - "play between a couple of races of bearings" that normally isn't apparant due to...

No worries. I just looked up what I think is the headlight bulb on BikersBitz:

Re: What 13.8 volt amperage is available to run a radio?
It can supply a maximum of around 24 amps, but quite a few of those are already spoken for (eg lighting). Personally I wouldn't do it.

Re: New front tyre - then two other things to replace . . .
Perhaps put it on the centre stand - sit on the bike - and turn the bars through the centre whilst feeling for any "nochiness". The other head bearing giveaway is a "clunk" when you hit a pothole when the front is loaded up. If both of those are OK then I'd say you're good to go....

Re: Is it reasonable to take a PCX on a cross country trip
I've done quite a few day trips of several hundred miles. My suggestions: - Be aware that the fuel consumption increases considerably if you're at wide open throttle a lot. - Oil consumption increases too - which may or may not be a problem depending on the age of the bike. - It's not the best tool ...

Re: How many riders do not carry tire repair kits?
I've had 5 flats - some my fault, some not. These days I try to hedge my bets by not running a rear past about 6000 miles / 10,000 km - and I carry both a can of instant tyre inflator and a pathetically low quality 12v compressor in my 47 litre Givi top box. One "gotcha" I learned the hard...

Re: Rain Riders
Thanks Coasting......at that price, tempted to get a spare. Please post a link? Speaking of bulbs....have replaced both headlights, and the oem bulbs are pricey. Just ordered a pair @ $47.00 [oem] Break my heart again! Forza was a bit cheaper but?? Tried the Chinese bulbs........not good. You...

Re: Rain Riders
My high-beam/low-beam switch failed. Got a genuine OEM replacement landed on my desk via eBay for around USD $10. Fitted it myslf (only 2 screws on a pre-LED 2014 model). Dealer wanted to charge well over USD $100. I ride in all weather - no other electrical problems other than the occasional $1 bulb.

Re: A bee, Lancaster PA unrest, and a close call
I keep my visor down for that very reason (except for waiting at the lights). I get a "ping" on the helmet once or twice a week on average from bees / wasps / blowflies bouncing off - not all would have gone into the helmet if my visor was up but it would happen once or twice a year. Impal...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed
Yeah - I think my problem was that I'd just got complacent from having had the thing apart too many times and forgot to do the nut up beyond finger tight. I've never had a problem before - I think I'll probably just be a bit nervous about it for a few days until I can see that it hasn't moved. Torqu...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed
The "gift that keeps on giving" ... Riding along today when all of a sudden there's a nasty sound coming from the transmission. As I pull over and slow down the engine stops. Bugger. Called the dealer who came out and gave the bike a ride back home. Cut a long story short, the nut that sec...

Re: New front tyre - then two other things to replace . . .
I've had constant battles like this with my dealer. Once may have been an accident - twice is a pattern. What do you call it when the odds just happen to fall in their favour about 8 times in a row now? I ask for a price and availability on a part - they call up a couple of days later to say the par...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed
Meaning pushing the clutch faces aprt to get the belt back on it and hopefully a little in it. Shouldn't be necessary. "Homie" shows how it's done if you scrub to the 7 minute mark in this video if you haven't seen it: https://youtu.be/C6-cCjR8kUY I've got the older bike that takes the ol...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed
Ah - Honda call those the "driven faces". The clutch is on the same shaft, but doesn't have any contact with the belt. Nothing changed except a new belt for me too when mine started - and the issue went away when I returned to the old belt, but only for a couple of weeks - and then the onl...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed
I'm not 100% sure I'm fully understanding what you're meaning - so I'll elaborate on some of the detail in the hope that it helps. Due to the clearance between the housing that the entire transmission is contained in and the outer periphery of both the drive faces + driven faces, it's necessary to r...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed
SORTED! Hey folks, learned some valuable lessons. 1. It was caused by worn drive faces. I replaced both faces (ie the two alloy ones at the front - not the steel ones at the rear) and it's gone from "awful and getting worse" to "completely normal". 2. My HUGE mistake was not real...
