Re: 2011 Honda PCX oil question help
So if my temperature in my area will be in the 90's I should run 10w40? Or will 10w30 be okay?

10w40 is safe to run on the PCX? It says in the manual to use 10w30

Re: Motor Oil Question
I plan on full synthetic. I just wasn't sure what the "SL or better" meant in the manual. Because the Amsoil Advanced Synthetic 10w30 is rated SJ. Sounds like I am in the clear then.

Re: Motor Oil Question
What about the "SJ" issue? The 10w30 on the Amsoil website is rated SL? Am I okay to run this oil? And would it be better to go with a 10w40 instead of 10w30? I live a warmer climate, nights don't get lower than 35 and in the summer reach 100 degrees. I figure 10w30 would be better for hot...

Re: Motor Oil Question
I use Amsoil in my diesel truck, and I want to use Amsoil 10w30 Advanced Synthetic. But the rating on it is SL. And the manual states SJ or higher. Will this be okay to run?

I filled it up, put Stabil in it, and also 2oz's of Lucas injector cleaner. Probably won't ride it until March

Re: Taking off the speed limiter!?
So the scooter will continue revving high while the speed is picking up downhill. Very confusing. I guess this is what happens when there's no clutch

Re: Taking off the speed limiter!?
How is that possible? I'm definitely not redlining the RPM when I'm going down hill. I'm barely pulling the throttle and it stops every single time at 64mph. It never goes above that no matter how steep the decline. I find it hard to believe im redlining 9600rpm with half throttle rolling downhill.

Re: Taking off the speed limiter!?
I've come to realize that this is not a limiter based off 9600rpm. I go down a steep grade and hit the limiter at 64mph on the speedometer and im only at half throttle. So my PCX is definitely limited by speed and not rpm. So I'm not sure if this is different for the 2013 maybe, but mine guaranteed ...

Re: Taking off the speed limiter!?
Thanks for the info on this guys. I'm gonna wait until after 2k miles & then get the NCY variator. Is this something that can be installed by the dealer? Or is it a DIY. Anyone have a link to purchasing what I need?

Re: Taking off the speed limiter!?
What you are describing has happened to everyone who ever bought a motorcycle/scooter. Whatever bike you choose, you wish it would just do "one more thing". Then you end up buying a bigger motorcycle.... only to watch it happen all over again. I wish I could say that, but I had an R6 and ...

Re: Taking off the speed limiter!?
Well the 65mph zone levels out at the bottom. I wouldn't even need to use the brakes, but I would like to at least let the bike pick up speed down the hill some. At least 5-7mph more would be perfect! Has anyone successfully removed the limiter?

Taking off the speed limiter!?
I'm at 1200 miles now. I can't stand the limiter at 64mph when I have a stretch of downhill that is at 65mph. If I didn't have the limiter, I could go fast enough to keep up with traffic. I just need to take the limiter off and let my momentum do the rest down the hill. Help!

Re: Okay to run Premium gas in PCX150
I checked the manual as well. It does say 86+ octane in the US. I think I'll stick with 87 octane and maybe run 89 on occassion to see if it can clean it up a little.
