Admin on the KYMCO forum will bounce spammers in under 5 mins when reported by the moderator (via text).
Has done it twice this week, so far.

Speaking of New Year....anyone interested in being a moderator?
Yes? No? Maybe? Giving it thought? Got the time and all the other positive qualities that go with it?

It's pretty simple to filter out the spambots, I do it on the Marine forum site that I own (veradoclub.com). But it requires the moderators to have the power to approve new members prior to their coming on and being able to post. All you need to do is put a question in the registration, what kind of scooter or bike the person owns, and put a note that "none" is also acceptable. Spambots don't fill in that category, also the name and the email address is always goofy. . So all you do are is look at the end of the day of the list asking for membership, and or you could pick out the spambots Easily, mark, and punch delete. . A specialized site like this doesn't have So many people attempting to register, that one or two mods can't handle it easily.

Patients is a virtue. Health issues and life (like most of us) has kept us scarce as well.

I know I hate it... however many around me have beaten it these days, even brain.

I see that those spammers are still at it, only now they are getting more graphic. They need to be totally removed from our forum.

They are like a bad penny. They just keep showing up. I would say ban the individuals themselves.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple Mel. I ran an RV forum for some years using pretty much the same software as this site. These folks keep using different names and spoof IP addresses. You can ban them by IP address (including a range of them) but they keep coming back by spoofing another. One way I tried was to have new users not allowed access until approved by Admin, but eventually they got around that too. By the time we called it quits I was deleting about 10 spam posts a day. Most of them come from IP addresses in the Netherlands.

They haven't bothered changing their user names, I see. Can't those particular names be blocked?

Not that critical in the grand scheme of things. Sorry I mentioned it actually.

It's a wonderful life! Greatest time line you could hope for in America! Never thought I would live to see people come out of the closet like they have. Americans are finally seeing the left brain on steroids. So YES give me that eye cream and make it in camouflage so's i can wear it as face paint please.
