Hi,

I have a 2014 PCX and I want to install a basket on the front, but as you know, there's no factory installed mount on the scooter.

I didn't pull the cowling off but looked underneath and seems like there should be a way to rig something for good support.

Any ideas?

Well that has to be the dumbest suggestion I have heard so far.

The only place a front basket could be hooked to is the dash cover, and it will NOT handle the weight or stress.
The headlight is in a metal frame but I am not sure it was built to handle any weight.

The PCX is not built like the Honda SH 300, which could probably handle a front basket. Sorry.

Looking at my 2015, it seems like the easiest/quickest solution would be to adapt a front rack for a suspension mountain bike. Maybe something like the Thule Tour or the Old Man Mountain Sherpa? You might be able to make use of the side reflector brackets for the upper mounting of the rack. You'd also have to check spacing; the Thule might not be wide enough to clear the wheel and/or fender, but the Phat Sherpa looks like it would. I think the biggest drawback would be that it's going to be mounted to the fork sliders, which means anything mounted to the rack won't have the benefit of shock absorption. And, of course, you'd want to limit the amount of weight loaded there.

We put the basket on the rear of our scooters so's when the snake gets out it don't slither tween ye jewels.

The front forks move independent of the headlight area. You would have to attach the basket top to your handlebar if you attach the bottom braces to the forks. It COULD be done, but i think you would have to create the supports to go over the dash so it would not interfer with the movement of the front fork area.
