Too much sunshine

My eyes are really sensitive to bright light. Several years ago while riding my recumbent trike www.catrike.com I came upon the idea of putting black electrical tape on the top half of my sunglasses to block out the sun while riding. The riding position of the trike is like laying on your back and the sun shines down on your face. When my son and I rode my Cam An Spider to California I knew that the desert sun would be very painful to me so I blacked out the top half of my face shield. This worked very well, the only time there was a problem was when it rained and I wanted to get my head down behind the windshield, then I just removed the tape. I still use a half blacked out faceshield when riding my PCX.

I place a strip of painter's tape across the top of my face shield in order to block the very low sun on my sunrise rides. Carry it under the seat.
Used it again today.
I have a tinted drop down shield inside my helmet .
..but the tape works better in a low sun.
We don't darken our car's windshield in a low sun
...we just lower the sun visor. My tape does the same.
