The Kymco Like 150i is priced very well and has a true abs system. Wondering if I should have considered it instead of the PCX. What do you guys think of it? How does it compare to the PCX?

Classic Vespa look is not for me so nope. Also the 12" tires is a deal breaker.

The price is attractive though and it Looks like a fun scoot to use around town.

Kymco like... a fake Vespa which manages to be a decent scooter
Honda PCX... a real Honda which manages to be a decent scooter

Can't go wrong with either, if you're a home maintenance type the Kymco is much easier to service.

I don't see a Kymco forum with a dedicated loyal following membered with characters like GN to advise and youyou to spell check so no thanks. Look for a healthy help forum before you buy any motorbike or things can get boring and real expensive to maintain.

Kymco and Honda have had business dealings for a long time.

Honda and Yamaha have been doing work together on electric scooters recently. Here's an article from 2016 about the mutual venture between the two motorcycle giants.

http://fortune.com/2016/10/05/honda-yamaha-scooters/

How's the old saying go. . ."Two heads are better than one"?

That said I did see some quality differences between the Kymco and Honda products when I went looking for a new scooter last year. Ultimately I chose the Honda. :D

After more than a year of ownership and a couple of thousand miles it never let me down. If the seat was designed differently I'd still have it today (despite the ass backwards arrangement of the horn button and turn signal indicator switch). I thought after some miles it would start to "break in" as I've experienced with other machines but it just never did.

That new Like 150i looks good for sure. But like anything else it's sometimes wise to give a new model a year or two to run with the bulls and read the owner's reviews after the miles have stacked up. :geek:

But you've got to admit this forum is the best! :D

That forum is dead... no active topics in a year.

That forum is dead... no active topics in a year.
The number of current postings on it for owner reviews has indeed dropped off for some models. . ..

A bit of a disappointment.

But the news articles continue to be somewhat up-to-date.

I'd still say worth a look . . ..

Other sites with good information out there include, for example https://www.bennetts.co.uk/. You'll notice the bike reviews do upstage the scooters somewhat but they do have the new Honda Monkey and Forza listed etc. . .. :geek:

Yeah, but does regular 'ole Dino Oil make a Kymco sound better & more responsive ?

Some reviews of new Kymco scooters.
https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/kymc ... eview-test
Owners report being delighted with their new models - but with complaints of lagging spares, and lacking accessories.
The top speed of the new LIKE150i seems farfetched at 70mph.

The KYMCO forum is noticeably different than some 2 wheel forums.
Pontificators are ignored; trolling is not.
Plenty of griping when things go south with a scooter, and quite a number of experienced mechanics are weighing in with assistance...knowledgeable or not....as is expected.
With some griping just because of age, or incontinence, as expected.
There isn't much brand defensiveness - as many members do or have owned all kinds of scooters. The focus is to maintain the scooter and enjoy the ride - and leave the negative stuff to youtubers.

It's not for everyone.
