Keep in mind that the percentage of bikes with the bad clutch BEARING was small.

My wife and I each have a 2013 PCX 150. Hers had the clutch bearing problem, which has been fix and is no longer a problem.

Mine was purchased later than hers was so i have yet to reach to miles necessary for the problem to show up. My bike is running quite nicely and shows no sign of the problem or ANY problems at the moment.

Mel, has your wife been riding more this year? How is she overall from the accident a couple of years ago?

AND its about as hard to swap out as a video card. I should order one and do a dedicated video on replacing the clutch bearing... oh wait I did that already.

All the best with your new Honda Rebel.

I had an '85 and it never let me down.

Did you order any extra stuff for it?

Any specific reason for choosing the 300 over the 500 Rebel...?

kramnala58,

Unfortunately neither my wife nor I have gotten to ride much since the accident. It took her several years to get over the fear of having another accident, so it has been up to me to keep both bikes exercised.

Then when she finally started showing an interest in riding again the weather went to hell, and it is like the flood gates have been opened from the sky almost every single day. I can't even cut DRY grass because it has no time to dry before we get more downpours. To go with that rain, we get lots of lightning and thunder as well.

Consequently I don't think we have put more than 10 miles on the bikes together in the last 6 months. Insurance on the bikes is $768 per year, and we are not even putting 100 miles per year on them now. I really really love my bike, but the riding future looks bleak for us.

Yeah 300 is fast enough for me and it has so much room over valve cover. So it should be easy to adjust valves

Today was predicted to be another sunny day in Georgia, like the last month has been, or was predicted to be. Yeah, right. We wish! This is why I can't go out and enjoy a nice scooter ride!

While we had one of the PCXs in the shop getting a tire changed we looked a a Honda Rebel 300. Great looking bike.

My wife was afraid that she would have a problem reaching the handlebars because they don't angle back like the PCX does. I told her that we could always swap them out.

The regular 1080 has less torque so it requires less power

Regular rain isn't the problem here. Dumping the entire ocean on us all at once is! Traffic comes to a standstill except for the idiots with expensive high-performance cars who think they are on a track.

The rest of us can't see because the rain is blowing sideways at 50 mph, and lightning and thunder are shaking the ground around us.

Storms in the southeastern part of the United States scare everyone, including the animals. I have seen afternoon showers turn into tornadoes in a matter of minutes.

Do they still have that goofy low seat height?
Son and I took the riding course together. Only 2 bikes left to choose from, a Rebel and a gangly Yamaha dirt bike. Son took the Rebel because he's only 6'2" & was able to see between his knees to ride it. I couldn't see the road. Reminded me of sitting at a parent teacher conference for my 3rd grader.
Must be customers for 'em, though. (Poor little duffers. ;-)
Still, it's a Honda, so that's good.
