Finally got to riding the scoot again, so wore out the rear tyre and took it to the shop for new!(Bought the stuff 3 years ago or so). Michelin City Grip 140/70/14 rear and 120/70/14 front. YSS Shocks with XL springs (70 to 110kg riders).

Tyres and the increase size are huge improvement. 26psi front and 28 rear. Great ride, and roll super smooth in and out of the corners. The higher air volume allows for lower pressure and the affect is noticeable and welcome improvement.

The shocks are setup with no preload for now, and the affect of them is noticeable also with with smoother ride out back. Better small bump compliance and you can really tell there's some damping going on when you hit something bigger and the rebound is less harsh.

Ordered the YSS emulators for the front forks. Hopefully won't take another 3 year install.

New belt coming too. Was bouncing off the limiter at 73 instead of the original 78, so maybe it'll come back up.

I also just installed a set of YSS XLs... really impressed so far, but now I notice the front seems soft. I'll be interested to see how the emulators work out, I've used similar items on other bikes very successfully.

I'm also interested in the wider tires.. any fender adjustment needed for that size? I seem to remember that the 150 rear needed shimming (too lazy to search right now).

I shimmed the airbox and rear fender just like in Homies video I wouldn't go any bigger than what I have now. The front fender barely clears on the lower end of it. I may be able to make an adaper to raise it a little but haven't looked to closely.

The new tyres make a huge improvement in ride quality at the pressures I indicated. The grip is confidence inspiring to say the least.

I'm hoping the emulators help the front end, as it's the only weak link left to improve in the handling department.

Just Just did a 20 mile round trip on Highways and I-74. Feels so much more stable with the larger(more mass) tires at 60-65, even in cross winds. Rides way smoother too. Well worth the very slight loss in acceleration and fuel economy. I have extra rollers to experiment with, so will try them when I change the belt.

Can't find my extra rollers, so the new belt will wait til next weekend
Did a 1 hour Cruise last night on rural highways and have to say the new suspension and tyres have really changed the character of the bike. It sits taller now so I have yet to scrape the centerstand since I mounted them, even though I'm taking some corners 10 mph faster than I did with the little skinnies on it.

Your rear tire will throw off the speedo, how much it's hard to say, you can use the Tacoma tire calculator to compare but with a 140 on that skinny rim the shape will not be the same. The circumference will likely be more than the calculator shows due to pinching in of the sidewalls pushing out the crown of the tire further than normal.

It’s off by about 4% so no worries. GPS’d with phone and Garmin. At 50mph on the speedo, going roughly 52mph.

New belt and 11 gram roller combo installed. Seat of the pants is good but I know the pitfalls. 2up riding is good. Follow the other threads for performance. Splitting hairs now!
