Enthused by a challenge I went out this afternoon with the goal of averaging over 90mpg.

OK I only went just over eight miles, but I'm counting it as a success!

92.9?

Most excellent for a 650.

My KLR never got anything like that. . .I usually figure around 50ish to 60ish MPG with that one.

It was your SV right?

About as close to a "Perfect Bike" as you are going to get. . .for what it is. . .as they say. 8)

Yes its the SV and yes, its close to perfect.
Just needs a slightly better seat, proper mudguards and a pillion grab rail.
Normally I get 67 to 72mpg.
Imperial gallons remember ;)

A top case would give a pillion something to rest back on. . .or feel more "with the bike" under acceleration. Suzuki has accessories on their website for it. . .a bit pricey perhaps but they do exist. Regular hand rails I didn't see. But the top case carrier seems to install where grab rails normally would. Those could be handy just to move the bike in and out of a garage as well. Too bad they didn't make them part of the original design. As an added note I see they do make what they call a "Tuck Roll" seat with more padding and sort of a "Cafe" look. . .. 8)

I bought the carrier but you need to cut holes in the side panels to fit it.
So its lying in a cupboard.
The tuck roll seat is vfugly and no better than the original.

You've already been down that road then. . .. :geek:

Figured I'd mention the Suzuki accessories listing just in case. 8)

I'm glad you did mention it because there's useful stuff on your link which I don't remember seeing on the Suzuki UK site :)

Yeah. . .they had a couple of pages of stuff.

My first bike was a Suzuki TC 90. . .always had good luck with them. . .except for the X6 Hustler that was stolen out of my parents driveway back in the early '70s. For a 250 it could fly though. . .. It was just like the one in this video. That said still got the 20 year old Bandit and it runs like a champ. I've had a bike from all the big 4 Japanese manufacturers at one time or another over the years. Had one Triumph Trophy 250. Never owned a Harley. It was on my wish list for a long time but times have changed and at this stage of the game I like lighter weight machines that are less cumbersome. 8)

??? On a PCX or Forza? 28.9 makes sense for the family sedan, but not a motorcycle/scooter.

Something is amiss....

There are various settings on the display screen as to how you measure fuel economy on the PCX. 8)

FWIW I just did about a 6 mile local ride to catch some cool evening air in this heat wave and I couldn't believe I was averaging 119.1 MPG. Yes. . .119.1 MPG. I had reset my display before I left so it was all fresh data feeding the onboard computer.

I was only traveling between 30 and 40 MPH with very few stops so that may have had something to do with. The last time I topped off the tank was yesterday. Maybe it was a particularly good batch of 87 Octane (does contain ethanol).
