Hello all!

I’m buying my new pcx 125 pretty soon and I was wondering if any of you guys are thinking about the latest model, it comes with abs on the front only, larger wheels and an extra 1ltr storage under the seat. I love the look of the new dashboard it makes it real easy to see.

I have just received an email confirming my order of the new model and have managed to get it for the same price as last years at £2899. It seems Honda are allowing the first batch to be sold at this price but I was informed that price will go up between 200/300 more in future sales of the same model so if your thinking about getting one you could save a bit of dosh.

I hope Honda don’t have a huge delay in shipping out the orders, my dealer informed me they just took the first customer orders and they are waiting for a date from them. Exciting for me as it’s my first bike.

I’m a bit long in the tooth but hey it’s never to late is it. I have been reading these forums for several months but was unable to log in until now so I kind of know some of the regular boffins and I’m sure they will have some insight for me and I look forwards to been a part of the forum thanks.

ABS model? In production for those outside of Asia? That is something new. I don't know how often the lack of ABS was discussed here. HOWEVER, if I remember correctly they only put that in the front, because the rear brake is still a drum. I know they introduced rear disc brakes on Asian models recently, but I thought it was not in full production yet. Someone please tell us what is really going on.

The wheels are a new wirly design, the tyres are wider.

Honda's popular PCX125 scooter has received a complete makeover, dahlink, for 2018 based on a brand-new steel cradle frame, new spenders, more powerful pushing unit and the addition of ABS.

The PCX125 is one of Honda's unsung success stories, chalking up 140,000 sales in the last seven years, and was the first two-wheeler in Europe to feature Idling Stop technology; two years later it became the first scooter in Europe to use Honda’s ultra-efficient enhanced Smart Power (eSP) engine.

In 2016 it gained EURO4 compliance and now, to keep ahead of the pack in an ultra-competitive marketplace, for 2018 the PCX125 is receiving a major design update, brand new chassis and more power for its engine.

As something to hang other things on, the chassis is now of a steel duplex cradle design instead of underbone. Also (for the first time on a Honda scooter) a plastic main fairing stay has replaced the steel structure used before. This, and the frame redesign, has shaved 2.4kg from the structure, further aiding agility.


Wheelbase is 2mm shorter at 1,313mm, and steering geometry remains the same, with 27° rake and 86mm trail. Overall kerb weight is 130kg. Both front and rear wheels are lighter and use thinner rims, with an eight-spoke design.

The 31mm front forks are unchanged with 89mm axel travel, but the rear shock absorbers are re-sited more towards the rear of the machine; and now use tri-rate springs for a smoother ride, whether on rough city streets or out of town.

Stopping power is provided by the two piston caliper 220mm front disk brake, and 130mm rear drum brake; single-channel ABS operates on the front brake.

The SOHC, liquid-cooled two-valve 125cc enhanced Smart Power (eSP) engine powering the PCX125 offers compact durability with excellent performance away from the lights plus quiet, smooth operation and reduced CO2 production.

At this stage of its development more power at high rpm – with no loss of torque down low – was the target for improved performance in higher speed ranges. Peak power is now up 0.4 bhp to 12.05 bhp @ 8,500rpm, with peak torque of 11.8Nm @ 5,000rpm.

Plenty of YouTube vids about it also, they are only short and mostly outside the uk but I’m sure you will like what ya see. I’m just waiting now for my dealer to let me know when Honda ship my customer order to him so I can pick it up. Orders are live as from Tuesday for UK.

I will be getting the same as the one In The video below, I’m not sure when or how long it takes Honda to send out to the dealers once the dealer has ordered it as a customer order, I was told end of this month or mid June.

Then I tried again.

Anywho, after hanging out with ya'll for abit, I decided to leave and check again on Honda's Official PCX page...

The grey-silver strips in the black plastic sidepanels above the footboards are levers for the new quick release bodywork.
When these two levers are actuated together, the entire lower bodywork comes off in one piece for ease of servicing access.

Man those mushrooms taste good....

First, sorry the pics are rather large but I did notice now I can edit them so future pics won’t be this large.

Would it be a lot easier to replace the panels on these models then? I was thinking of buying some green ones from abroad as green is not one of the uk colours.

Any ideas on what to get with my new pcx will be very appreciated as I basically have no idea, I did buy a go pro and some gloves and a lid now I guess I need a good lock and a new visor mid range ones look like what I need. It’s a brand new world.....well for me. Thanks peeps, any input or wisdom this way please. Toodles.

@ Emanon, it's not that simple but panel exchange Can Be Done. What color green would that be? I like lime meself

So what were we saying here? Are those really levers that lower the bodywork? Or is that all supposition? Anybody have an actual link to the description from Honda on that?

Think legs are being pulled here. Almost worth a 3rd party bringing out replacement panels with removable hatches - be painful the 1st time removing things but easy after that.
