I think great for short commuter city runs and college campus. Doesn't seem practical for hills, grades and highway runs.. But have to see it in person.

Yeah I'm a fan. I've extolled their virtues on here before now too.

I wonder if the 50cc equivalent can get up hills? There are some 50cc scooters on our streets here that have a hard time getting up these hills...which are really only inclines. To me they are a danger to everyone and should not be allowed on the roads. You don't need a license to ride one on the streets. Nor do you need a license plate or insurance. If you are going to take a 50cc scooter out into traffic you have just as much chance of being hit as the rest of us.

If they did one that could go 100 miles at 70mph and cost less than £4000 I might be interested.

There's the Zero S but its a wee bit pricey and there isn't a dealer in Scotland.

It's only designed to do 28 mph to meet EU licence restrictions.

It is 72kg with a 2kW motor so I'd say at town speeds it is going to be as quick up hills as it is on the flat, or thereabouts.

I have yet to ride one but have ridden several electric MTBs of off road spec with the same kind of power to weight ratios and they don't lose much speed on hills.

Speed loss uphill might be more of a problem for those of us who weigh a bit more than the bike...

I wasn't thinking about my svelte frame, more our 22 stone neighbour (estimated) and his Haibike MTB.
