Wonderful day for riding!

I went out on my bike yesterday, first to do some shopping, and then to just enjoy the ride. What a wonderful day to ride. The temps were in the low to mid 70°F with a light breeze.

I the most fun I had was buying groceries. I kept my hi-viz jacket on while running inside to buy some items. At checkout the clerk would always ask if I was riding a motorcycle. I would say, "Well, it is a scooter that looks like a motorcycle."
Invariably they would ask how I was going to be able to carry all those groceries. I would just smile. They could see my scooter from their cash register as I would walk out and stuff bags here and there in the bike, put on my helmet, and ride away.

Since my house is not too far from the stores I would drop those groceries off and head to another store, with the same questions.

...and then my wife, who was on the road with friends, sent me a text to inquire if I was going to go riding after going to the store. :D
My reply: Already done.. Am still riding.

I noticed that the new lights I added make me a lot more visible now, and the HS5 bulbs in the main headlight really work great. My wife still has original lights in her bike and you almost can't tell that her lights are on during daylight runs.

If you are going to ride, try to be seen.

Great picture! You certainly are visible. Those lights are awesome, have a similar setup on my bike and what a difference they make on the country roads at night.

If you look at that picture, look at my left wrist area. You will see 4 dots. That is another light. I have one on both sides.

You will also look below that and see a tiny black dot. That is a strobe light that I don't turn on during daytime rides. I have one on each side, plus there is one on each side under the headlights (4 total strobe lights).

I also added a small led light in the front and rear wheel wells. Those don't strobe but do light up the underside of the bike when riding at night. Maybe I should have put colored lights under there, but I had those among my supply of accessory lights. They were not in a protective casing so I put each one in a spare sd memory card case and glued it shut.

So I have lights for all occasions, in every color ... if you like white.

8) My head bounced a few times but I walked away when I had a helmet just like that one and had my accident at 45 mph. Oversized or not, if the helmet keeps me alive and safe I can live with it. 8)
