Not sure why you should support your student today, 03/14/2018?
Thousands of youngsters will be calling for congress to listen to them - at 10:00 AM.
(Thankfully, kids are no longer expecting much from us.)

We used to think of it as Pi Day 3.14. :geek:

Life was simpler then. . .in that regard.

I could never understand why this government would take the position that 16 year old's are mature enough to take on a job and drive a car and take college entrance exams but were not old enough to cast a vote for people who were going to dramatically effect their future. My view is that if one is old enough to participate and contribute in this economy then they should have a say in who gets elected.

I'm glad to see young people taking a stand. Right or wrong at least they are taking a stand and that's what this country was founded on. We can't always get what we want, but if we try sometime, we find we get what we need. 8)

I bet this walk is more exercise than they've seen in years... won't be a total waste of time.

That's true an exercise in exercise.Politicians are immune to walk or crowds..They are trained to follow the money.

Because politicians are immune to everything, whatever is done will only affect them if it is tied to their paychecks. I have yet to see a politician who cared about what any of those who put him in office said after he was elected, and thousands of voices that are not old enough to vote mean even less to them.

Aside from this being very close to a political discussion, which is a forum no no, the only thing we need to get out of this thread is that we need to be there for our kids...and grandkids.

I was.
The lazy basketball player was joined in the freezing wind for 17mins by 2 lazy soccer players and a lazy young lady from the track team.
The other 446 kids stayed inside and missed out on the two day suspension.

I think it was Socrates who said the two certainties in life are:
Taxes
And old farts complaining about young people.

He also said, "The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance".

And also, "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing". :geek:

As in the movie "Easy Rider" Wyatt (Capt. America) and Billy were off for their great adventure only to be cut short by some ignorant individual with a diseased evil brain and a healthy weapon. 8)
