Alvey Fishing Reel Factory Closing

Just announced last week that the Australian manufacturer of Alvey side cast fishing reels is closing. Based in Queensland and run by old friends and clients of mine (and true gentlemen), they have manufactured a large and unique range of fishing reels. The main reason for them closing is their products last forever and don't break down.
They are the only reels that can be dunked in salt water and keep right on working. Made from stainless steel, brass, phenolic resin, with leather washers, they can be taken apart in minutes and serviced easily. They require a little practice to learn how to cast, but anyone who owns one swears by them.
This has been a family business since day one, spanning three generations, and they are all keen fishermen. Their offices a full of pictures of people including celebrities and themselves fishing all around the world.
There has been a huge outpouring of support (probably too late), and it's impossible to buy one of their reels at present, due to people (including me) deciding we need to have one of these unique reels.
It's a sad world when someone makes a product that is so good it puts them out of business.
