Hi All, I look forward to getting the good info on the PCX from you all.

First a little bike history:

This is my 5th scooter. I've had:
  • Honda Metropolitan (49cc)
  • Genuine Buddy 125
  • Suzuki Burgman 400
  • Honda Silverwing 600
I've also had quite a few motorcycles over the years, ranging from 250cc up through 1300cc.

Motorcycles are more fun to ride when there are twisty, hilly backroads, but I spend 95% of my time in the suburbs, these days.

I gave up riding a few years ago when I had my daughter, after reading the stat that a person is 1300% more likely to die in a bike accident than a car accident. But... I felt trapped, no escape, in a cage all the time. I'll have to take my chances and just be careful, I guess.

The Silverwing and Metropolitan were my best scooters so far. Honda quality is unrivaled, in my opinion. Suzuki was good too, but not quite there with Honda.

I'm hoping to find that this nice little 150 is The Goldilocks size for a scooter. Big and quick enough to stay out of the way of cagers and small enough to be light and agile. 100 mpg is awesome too. My 50cc Metropolitan "only" got 105 mpg. (carbureted)

I read about the seat hump removal on the 2013, but I guess I'm short enough that it's unnecessary. Also, removal of that hump seems like it might make the passenger tend to slide into me...

See you all around, and greetings from Chicagoland!

Naperville/Bolingbrook area here. Ride nearly every day if weather permits... for fun! Never tell me the odds

Haven't seen a red PCX around here yet but I will keep looking. Welcome to forum!!!

I'm up in Northbrook, ~20 miles north of the loop, so we're unlikely to meet by accident, except maybe on a scooter rally? (do you go to those?)

The Chicago rallies are mostly full of smokey old Vespas and Lambrettas. I did it once, but didn't get much respect, on my Genuine Buddy. :)

I'll try to remember you, when I've got enough seniority to use the PM system here, hehehe.

Pix of my new steed in the grocery store parking lot last night:

...and one parked amongst some other bikes at work. A big Yamaha cruiser of some sort, a Goldwing and my little "Bronzewing."

It could be a real Hardley-Ableson. It's a husband/wife pair that own those two bikes. The woman (wisely) chose the Goldwing.
