Coolant change - Full replacement

Hi all,

I recently bought a PCX (2014, new model) and just joined the forum. I have already done a fair bit of maintenance to my PCX, thanks to all the useful how-to's here.

I am now trying to figure out how to fully change the coolant (given that the corrosion inhibitors apparently degrade over time, and my PCX is 2.5yrs old now). I found some helpful comments in this topic: http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=19& ... ant#p74924 but overall could do with a bit more guidance. Are there any videos or can somebody help me with the service manual instructions? Am I right in thinking that I would need to use the engine drain plug as well to do a full exchange, or can everything be changed by just using the radiator drain plug.

Thanks!

Hi, Most coolants have a 5 year life span so if you are concerned syphon some out of the header tank and replace with new making sure it is the right colour and type. Ray

I've done it recently it's not difficult
Flush radiator, flush coolant expansion tank, locate the little burp bolt and open it - search around the forum here, there are at least 4 different threads on it cheers

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on this forum. I have a black pcx 2012 that has just above 4000mi and i think is time to completely drain the coolant, flush if necessary with distilled water and refill with fresh Honda coolant. I also would like to ask if someone could take picture of the service manual and PM me or send a link as i have been searching for ages and found nothing about the coolant. The closest I got is I found a pdf copy of the whole manual somewhere in the threads on this forum, but is in Vietnamese and can't understand a word in it. Please if someone can post a pictures of the pages for changing the coolant will be very helpful to see how it has to be done.

Many thanks to all
Stan
