So when you're ready to change a tire, do most of you buy the tire on line and take it to the dealer along with the bike and have him remove the back tire and mount the new tire? Or do you purchase the new tire on line, and remove your back tire yourself from the bike and take it to the dealer along with the new tire for mounting?

I take mine to the dealer after purchasing it online. It takes less time that way and I don't need to worry about balancing it.

Removing a tire off a 14" rim yourself is very difficult and only less challenging than putting one on. I purchased online at the superstore http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/28 ... -rear-tire

Then choose local talent with wheels off the bike for help. Of course the cycle shops will have experienced help for a price but I found the owner of a neighborhood Goodyear garage on a slow day took the time to carefully adjust his equipment to the tiny wheels and the results were perfect. He did both wheels for free only asking for future business on my truck, wouldn't even take a tip. Since then I buy his tire services.

Mel46, do you remove the tires from the bike yourself, or drive the bike with the new tires to the dealer and let him remove the tires from the bike and the rims?

Best bet is order tyres on line then remove the wheels yourself and take the wheels to a local tyre fitter.
