Some free beauty to behold. Given to Us by Mother Nature. Are you out and about enjoying the scenery? I'm hoping so. The Foliage is stunning but watch for it on the ground (anywhere) riding or walking. You can S l i d e whether it's wet or dry. Please Be Careful ;)

Here are a few Fall photo's taken last year at Heckscher State Park. It's a 1,600 acre park that's located on the Shore of The Great South Bay here on Long Island. I will be returning there very soon to view Those Autumn Leaves once again.

That is lovely. I like autumn best for riding tbh. Not too hot and when the leaves are blowing around you sometimes it feels like you are riding through liquid air

Looks like a good place to ride. There is something like that to the north of where I'm at, in Wisconsin. Door County. It is actually a peninsula of Lake Michigan. All the superannuated individuals I know make a pilgrimage there every year about this time to see the colors. It's about 250 miles from me so I can't go there with my (once) shiny red baby. It is not so much the distance, but that many hours riding is too hard on me anymore. My back and neck would be burning half way there. I have not got a trailer to haul it. So sad.

WN, would you happen to have the first pic, or one like it, without the bike? We don't get autumn in Thailand and I am looking for a nice autumn pic to use as the wallpaper on my computer screen .... a little feeling of 'home'.

It's a late night event and I'm so glad I don't live in FLA anymore... these are either fun and nothing happens a you party or they can totally ruin your life.

The hurricane winds won't make it here (to the Midlands of South Carolina)
and it won't start raining here until tomorrow.

However, the excitement has already started.
They've turned the freeway that my husband takes to work into a one-way road, to evacuate the coast.
There's panic buying at the grocery stores (bottled water and food that doesn't need cooking).
Everyone is keeping their gas tank full.
And the schools and government offices closed down yesterday
and will remain closed until the storm passes.

Folks could be overreacting, but then again
we still have a lot of damaged infrastructure from the floods last year.

I have been through a number of hurricanes, and I certainly helped rescue foolish people who decided to stay and actually survived...and then there were the bodies of those who didn't survive. In the Coast Guard we had a lot of occasions when we wished we did not have to go out there but hoped that those we were going out for were still alive. In a hurricane there will always be foolish people who think it is all a joke, but it isn't, and they find out too late. There was one case where a group of young college students decided to party in a motel that was suppose to be right in the path of the hurricane. They were calling it a hurricane party. The hurricane hit. The waves hit. The winds hit. In the end, the motel was completely gone, along with the party. They were never found.
A hurricane is not something to take lightly.

Gatorgreg and other Florida members probably having power outages today. Hopefully bikes are sheltered and cleanup is manageable. Georgia needs to hunker down now.

Leaves are falling everywhere. Where's the Color? so I went back to that very same park two days ago. Just a wee bit too soon. Color just starting. Okay, I'll try again in a week or so.

Any color going on by ya'll yet?

homie, It's a beautiful park making it very easy to take beautiful foliage photos. There will be more if the fall rains don't get to falling them leaves first. "I hate when that happens" (Dudley Moore/Arthur - Super Hysterical LOL Movie. I know, One you like as well ;)

87112, I'm thinking you're right about that ;)

2yous, "Liquid Air," I'm feeling that too. Best rides are early Spring (we're all anxious to roll and the air is....perfectly liquid all around us). Then Autumn (we know it's our last days before old man winter puts up his stop signs. But the fragrance of leaves, the soil in the park or any country road....seems like heaven). Ohh...to bottle that! "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?"

flyingzonker, sorry you can't make that ride but I definitely can relate. Our aging bodies are not that forgiving. We do the Very Best We can. Did you ever consider hooking up a hitch receiver with a VersaHaul? That would get you where you wanna go. Just a thought.

chicaboo, I'm not familiar with that song. It must have meaning to you and Autumn Days. That's cool enough, I dig that. Songs bring a lot back to Us. Hold fast to them.

kram, I never took a photo without WN in it. Sorry. I know, I know....how did I let That happen? I would gladly share one with you and you may still get one. I'm now waiting for the leaves to change. Hoping they cling till I arrive, and that I'm free to roll.

fish, I knew you'd like these shots. Not a Forza, but just the same a bike....it's all about the Free Colors and our snapshot trigger finger. How tall am I? Will I win a prize? I sit tall don't I? Why not give it a guess first? I'll play :D

2yous, hurricane not making to Long Island. Many thanks to that from many here. Sadly, others South of us are dealing with his Wrath. Destruction, Flooding and yes death. My heart goes out to all those suffering from His Devastating Visit.

homie, I too sigh with relief. After being a 15 year resident I had enough of weather threats. But.....I still miss Florida, especially in the late fall to early spring. Best riding I've had in my lifetime.
But That ain't over yet!

DR, how did you guys get through all this? Safe and Sound now? I know the highways were going one way only. That was a smart move to save lives. Probably an inconvenience for you though.

Mel, yep folks do dumbass things during these frightful storms. Seen it up here too. They get all excited and head to the beaches. My Story....years back I went fishing while a hurricane approached. My feet on dry dock. Within a half hour the sea level rose and my feet got soaked. That's how quick that happened! Nervously, I reeled in, packed up and headed home (where I should've Stayed to begin with!) That was my dumbass move and I'm living to tell it. (I look up still and say, Thank You)

To Gatorgreg....check in man. How's by you?

STILL WANTING TO SEE AUTUMN LEAVES. SO IF YOU'RE OUT AND ABOUT THIS GLORIOUS TIME OF YEAR, PLEASE TAKE AND SHARE SOME OF YOUR COLORFUL PHOTOS.
YOU MIGHT BE GLAD YOU HAVE THOSE PICS ONE DAY.

HEY! DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT YOU DID WITH FALL LEAVES IN SCHOOL? THINK BACK. YOU HANDPICKED THEM AND THEN DID WHAT WITH THEM? (Bet you're seeing colors now) :P

easyrider, nice rig! You set that up nicely. Large wheel chock and....is that a winch on a board I see? That's gotta make the job easier :) Please tell us more, which hitch hauler is this, & more about the wheel chock and winch. Do you feel the PCX is safe and secure on it? (Looks perfect to me ;)

----> fish (no fishing going on?)
Okay, ok, so you're not a game player. Ah well. I'm between 5'4" and 5'5". Depends on which Doctor I go too  Now can I ask why you asked?

AUTUMN LEAVES ARE ARRIVING! Slowly, step by step....they're changing.
:? Do leaves turn faster by the water or isn't that so? Or is it all centered around how Cold it gets?
I never asked this and I truly want to know (and I really don't want to google it).

My understanding is that their color change is affected by the amount of rainfall (or lack thereof) over the summer months.

When I get home in a couple of weeks I can get you the information. It is very stable and secure and yes it is a winch I use to pull it up.Makes life that much easier. It locks in place because the platform is like a ladder and the wheels fall in between the rings making it very secure
