Riding to work gives me plenty of time to pontificate on important matters, like what to look for when buying scooter or motorcycle tires. It seems like a bit of a mundane subject, but it's a surprisingly important one.

I'm liking the new stock tires that came with my new scooter.

The old scooter came with Dunlops or such that were hard and slippery. The new one came with IRC SS-560s, which are softer and hold the road better.

Might have been Pirelli which were very soft and wear out faster. Here is the tire you specify... WOW 95.00 a set, they are giving them away at the superstore :D

Odd, that's the description for the 530s, although as far as I can tell, the 560s are the same, but sized for the PCX.
They'll probably wear out quickly, but I'm enjoying them while they last. (The Pirellis i used to have did wear out very quickly in the heat here.)

I like the stock tires, I use to ride a CBR250R which also used IRC as OEM tires. I found for just street riding they offered nearly everything the name brands did. IRC seems to have a narrow and tall profile to them that makes them easier to flick.

Totally agree.

I too like the stock IRC's - great tyres that for me have never caused issue. wet or dry or winter roads. Some hate them, some like them. I've close to 10K now and the rear still have lots of life in it - and I often have to ride on poor surfaced roads with lots of rough patches.

I'm itching to change to either the diablo or the city grip, but the stock IRC is doing its job so far.
