I've noticed that on PC's, YouTube links appear to be broken. I've tried to find information on this on the web, but found nothing helpful. It's not just my post, and it's not just one PC. it seems the videos work fine on my iPad, but not on either of the computers in my home. Another user has observed that they have the same problem. I don't know how to fix it or if there is any support. I know the PHPBB software is open source, so there's probably no help there.

Just thought this should be brought to your attention. At least on this board I can get around it by posting the full URL instead of using the BBcode. It just doesn't show a preview that way.

Why yes, yes I did. And on my iPad I can see your videos just fine...not so much on my laptop.

Open source software is usually far easier to find fixes for.
Or create the fixes yourself if you're that way inclined.

I've found that it depends on how attentive the open source coders are to the program in question. Many open source products also have an unfinished feel to them...not that Microslop products are ever any better...

Which Linux build are you using? I've had a few over the years on different systems. At one point I had a Fedora/WinXP dual boot machine, and had an Ubuntu server.

My guess is that the issue is with Windows 10...speaking of unfinished products. ;D At least it isn't Windows ME or Vista...yeek, those were horrible.

When did it break? I ask because the YT links I've tried posted a month ago work fine on Win7. Many things no longer work on XP, esp SP2 but not surprising as it's a very ancient OS now.

Sorry, this is above my tech ability. Going to have to wait for one of the other mods or maddiedog to look at it.

I have a Samsung tablet, a home theater pcx with Windows 7, an Apple MacBook Air, a MacBook PRO, and a Linux machine (Mint) , and so far everything works fine.

Some YT video's look like this in here and on other forums to me on a win10 platform. I think this will get sorted in time as older video's might be the only ones affected.

I usually open in another browser window, seems nicer than trying to view in the forum and you have more control such as full screen, etc.
