You really have to love my dash cam. If I would have had to ditch today the Mobius Action Cam would have caught the company, the license plate and unit number. PLUS the fact my high beam was on. To appreciate this take it to youtube full screen and make sure your settings are in HD.

Yes, I've had that happen. You were lucky. Trucks that size are a menace when they are on roads that don't allow them plenty of room to maneuver. On narrow two lane roads, they are like a Sumo wrestler trying to dance in a phone booth (remember when there used to be phone booths?)

Tractor trailers are a menace especially on local roads. I once saw a truck making a right hand turn onto a narrow street and clipped and destroyed the rear quarter panel of a what appeared to be a brand new Cadillac..He backed up a bit then went forward and on his way.. Kept on going..but it was New York City where I understand that's a normal practice.

It wouldn't be hard to call in that driver thanks to action cams but I don't ride with animosity towards trucks or 'cagers'. My experience to date is that CDL (commercial drivers) aren't that threatening. Properly trained in general and tempered in their movements, I find truckers using turn signals being courteous and most acceptable.

This driver simply did not see me and this puts the ball in my court. I understand my vulnerability and self preservation is in balance precariously for the privilege of being on the road without such protections. I'm more of a threat to truckers and their companies then they are to me. Enjoy the freedom to ride, but we can't really change our environment to suit the choice to do so... stay alert boys and girls.

I wasn't there, of course, but it looks to me like he did see you (truckers, unlike many cagers, tend to like bikes and keep an eye open for them at all times) and just proceeded to make a normal right turn out onto the boulevard. I didn't see anything that indicated that he was way out into your lane and might have run over you. I'd assume that he counted on you to maintain your current speed and ride on by. Looks like you were going at a normal speed and he looked at you and the line of cagers on cell phones behind you and decided you were the one he could trust.

I've made that same call more than once in my thirty-five-odd years of driving those durn things around four-wheelers. Glad you stayed safe and alert and made the pass.

I hope you are mistaken about that as this would be too aggressive for normal driving. The brother was about to take the whole road but jammed the brakes at the last second. If he saw me and planned this action then that's just plain scary behavior and unacceptable changing my forgiving nature.

Well, when I closely watch the video instead of just checking the pics, I have to say that the trucker seems to be operating pretty much within his rights here. Of course, you were there, and the front seats see things the peanut gallery misses. In any case, this business of semis in tight places is another reason to keep to the right side of your lane.

that "blip" was down shifting in anticipation the guy was going to pull out in front of me and I don't ever ride without gloves, just don't care for full gloves in the heat of the summer.
