Low rev vibration

Hi group,

My PCX is now about 18 months old and done a little over 3000 miles, I have noticed recently that the bike has a very noticeable shudder when under low revs like on a hill start or creeping in traffic. If anyone has any idea where to star looking I'd be grateful for the advice.

Thanks

Karl

It's probably the clutch that's glazed. Try a few full throttle starts and see if it's any better. It usually helps a bit.

It's a common problem.
It's either a front variator problem. Change your rollers to lower weight.
Or change your clutch, like me in the picture. Makes the clutch engage much more smoothly.

Clutch bell mod to make the clutch catchier, smoother and cooler running, think of brake disks with holes in them ;)

I agree about glazed clutch, mine does this periodically since I probably baby it from starts too often.

The solution is easy though, just hold the pcx still with the brakes and give it maybe 1/2 throttle for about 5 seconds. It will then be nice and smooth until the next time it glazes again.

No need to replace the clutch till it actually wears out.

I had to deglaze often with very rainy climate over here- just put your front wheel against a wall, keep the bike perpendicular to wall and give it 2/3 full gas for 5 sec. Doing it with the brakes is tricky to open throttle enough.
