Didn't go quite as well as I'd hoped, but I didn't crash.

You said on your blog that you hope to race just once. I did some flat track racing when it wasn't as popular as it is today, and there wasn't as much money spent on modifying the bikes. At that time we didn't run much faster than 140 mph and we didn't have all the fairings that help so much. There were very few Japanese bikes but quite a few English ones to race against Harleys. I rode one of the Harleys. When the Triumph hit the tracks we couldn't keep up with them. They had a lot of aluminum which made them much lighter. I only raced on weekends but ended up dropping out and selling my bike. It WAS fun but very dangerous. At that time we had bails of hay to stop us if we ran off of the track. Now the speeds are unbelievable and the riders are even crazier. Good luck if you want to ride against one of them. Most of them have been riding since they were 4 or 5 years old.
