not too impressed with a Honda main dealer sending me away with an advisory for a non working number plate light though! Why not just fix it and put £2 on the bill!

Because removing those two little screws on the housing might give someone carpal tunnel?

Because to fit it would have invoked a labour charge and at Honda main dealer prices there's no way the bill would have been £2
So giving it a more positive spin, they've done you a favour by not fitting it
Did they check emissions...?

interestingly I did not get a print out! should I have had one? was not sure if bikes got tested?

You should have got a pass certificate if it passed.

I have been given the normal DVLA printout that shows when your next MOT is but not the emission readings one, guessings its not checked?

No mention of emissions in the handbook Alibally linked to.
Which means no need for spending extra on a cat
