Honda moulds

Hey guys

So I recently bought my first pcx but its missing the rear right side tail fairing. Honda apparently doesn't keep parts in SA. So i was hoping either somebody knew where I could find
it locally. Otherwise I was going to make my own out of fibreglass but making a mould from the opposite seems to be a daunting task. Any chance some has a mould or a fairing I could make a mould from. I think this would be helpfull in future as then I would be able to produce fairings on a regular for others needing parts. instead of have to pay R2400 and wait 3 weeks for it to arrive from Japan.

A daunting task indeed, remember each side is handed so not interchangeable...left side won't fit right side and vice verse.

I've seen several sources for body panels, but the least expensive seems to be here:

http://www.powerbypcx.com/en/genuine-pa ... n-900.html

440 Rand for the part, and another 720 Rand for shipping. That's only 1160R, half what you say in your original post.

Hope this helps...

Glad we were able to be of service!

By all means, post up pics of the process. I've always been interested in this sort of thing, but if it were me, I'd be looking into vacuum-forming ABS for the purpose. It isn't that expensive to build a vacuum-forming machine, and since I'm highly allergic to fiberglas and almost all of the epoxies, vacuum-forming is the only way I could go.

If you're interested, there are multiple sets of free plans for vacuum-forming machines available out there on the great world wide web that can be made for less than $100US.

Hi stormtrooper1, welcome aboard our forum(s) :P
Are you in South America? (Saw the SA in your text above). Would you help us to help you (like Now and in the Future), by adding your location to your profile? I've got easy directions below this post to get that done. Really,....it does matter. Thank ya in advance!

Okay, back to the FUN STUFF!! :D
I'm getting a bit Anxious to follow your postings. Not that I would attempt something like this, but I find creative processes fascinating and interesting. Cheers to You!
YES! I will be staying tuned to this channel waiting to see the fruits of your labor And to see that beautiful burnt orange color w/flow-glo fluorescent pops!
Can we get a sneak preview of that, or must we wait? Just Asking :D

Good Luck.....and Let the moulding begin! 8)

Hey thanks stormtrooper for adding your location!
Man I was way off the map from where you're at!
SA = South Africa not SA for South America! (I got the South part right)

Okay then, we're set to move onward? You've been quiet....a bit busy are we? Moulding? :D
Still anxious on Long Island. No worries, I have patience ;)
I'll be Back!

Aren't there any Honda parts websites in Africa?

Well, it is in Africa, but I use Bikebandit.com and they ship internationally. You might send an email to them. I think there is a way to contact them at their website. Their parts are inexpensive and good quality.
There is also Partzilla.com They also ship internationally. I am sure they also have a way of contacting them.
Check out both of these websites. You may find that for the part you need it is worthwhile to spend the money just this once. Hopefully they will have the color you need.
