Music is the one thing I miss while on Natasha... I'm really rather concerned about not hearing another vehicle being too close, or missing an emergency vehicle's siren, or it having an effect on my hearing. I suppose I'm a buzzkill for being so pragmatic, but that's just how it is.

I very often ride around with earbuds in both ears from my phone. I listen to podcasts, sometimes music, but mostly podcasts. I never feel disassociated from what is happening around me. Not at all. I suppose if it were music, instead of talk, that might be a different story. But I depend very little on hearing when I ride or when I drive. Look once, look twice, then look again, and keep looking.

Maybe there are people who depend more on auditory input than others. Or maybe the quality of that input is such for some that without it their balance gets spotty.

Bottom line: If it feels bad, don't do it.
