Would have been good if the control model could have been mounted in the front glove box out of sight. It is a bit in your face there.

Not for me. Out of sight would mean I couldn't adjust the heat on the fly

Looks interesting, would like to hear how effective they are and the temps you use them. Another thing, does the alternator produce enough power or do they pull from the battery?

Copyright It doesn't need a how to does it. There are only two connectors. A positive and a negative.

I can't believe you are interested in heated grips either

They connect to the battery (which is fed by the generator)

They only take 3.6 amps on the maximum setting. Max is flipping hot so I doubt it would be used for long, if ever

the peak alternator output is 309 watts, which is pretty good for a 125cc. how many watts does do the grips draw?

when i was first running my heated jacket i put a voltmeter on so i could watch how it was doing. my understanding is that if it drops below 12.8, you are overtaxing the charging system which is not good for it.

in my experience, there was not enough output at idle but plenty just a bit above idle. therefore, i turn my heated jacket off at stoplights. my honda heated grips turn themselves on and off when idle stop engages or when it is idling and there isnt enough output for the system.

The generic instructions from Oxford won't tell you to use the dedicated heated grips accessory socket in the PCX wiring loom which will take care of switching them off and on as required

I've got them wired so that they cut out at idle too

On my other bikes I'm used to switching them off a mile or so before the end of the journey just to let things top up. If you know what I mean

The grips also switch off if the voltage drops below 11.5v apparently

I think it's somewhere in behind the ignition.
I'm fairly sure that one exists, I remember reading a thread regarding fitment of the Honda version either on here or the other place.

I've got hot grips fitted. The switch (just a small round one - off, low heat and high heat), was placed through the plastic near the instruments above the ignition switch as gn2 says.

How easy are these to fit really?
The most I have modified my bike is adding a clock with an alan key and sinlge screw.

Is this a job for me? (I'm not a complete idiot)
