Carrying a pizza possible?

Hey all, I'm getting ready to go pick up a carry out order at Pizza Hut (2 medium pizzas and a 1/2 dozen wings), which is something I do fairly often. I'm wondering if any of you geniuses has figured out a way to safely carry home a couple pizzas on your PCX? :D

Don't they deliver?

Then the geniuses can fetch it to you?

Half a dozen wings is three dead hens.

Just saying.

Enjoy.

Get a pizza box for the rear rack.

Sure they deliver - but their delivery fee is $3 - and plus I feel compelled to tip the delivery guy (or risk having him spit on my next delivery :D ). So by picking it up myself I save about $7. It's also a nice curvy 2 mile road to get there so I'd like to use my PCX for this particular errand :)

Thanks honkerman - but I'd prefer to not mar the lovely lines of my PCX with that contraption if possible. I'm thinking a temporary bungee cord type solution on the rear seat might work? I only need it to go about 2 miles.

I've strapped pizza boxes (medium) into my crat before. It works well enough

To carry U.S. medium size food portion?
You're going to need a pick-up truck.

 Medium size food portions, not tipping and a delivery charge at two miles....what's going on in the US?

So I am guessing that you don't have a tail box. With a tail box you could take the box itself off and have a platform, though the GIVI ones do have a piece sticking up that acts to lock in the box. I have taken my box off on occasion, attached a piece of plywood to level out the platform, and just used bungee cords to hold the pizza. That works well, but if you are just now thinking about it, I think it is a bit late. Pay the tip and be done with it, but know that you could modify your PCX for the next time, if you want to. As for just using the bungee cords now, good luck on that one, as they start sliding off while you ride...

For strapping anything to the seat behind me, I took some pieces of 1" webbing, doubled the ends back and stitched them to make loops. Final product is a little longer than the width of the seat.

Placing them under the seat gives me extra loops hanging out wherever I want. Easy to hook with a bungee.

For an extra large pizza, you probably put some plywood on the seat - or you might get a folded pizza.

You could probably get the same results with 1/8th inch nylon cord and tie loops at the ends.
