Just over a month in and about 650km on the odometer, my stock screen already got some light scratches. My Givi d1136st windshield is on its way, and I was wondering if I could better protect it from scratches. I don't remember seeing or hearing people stick some kind of screen protector (like on people's phones) on their new shields, why is that?

Necessity is the mother of invention I noticed with the screens on my bikes that minuet scratches are inevitable and at first on a new windscreen going to be more noticeable then later after washing several times. It seems that until you knock that perfectly polished finish off entirely by wiping them down a few times you will get beyond this and your screen will look great with a (no rub) wax and light buff with a non-microfiber rag. These microfiber rags are not for your pretty plastics, use soft cotton. Just my experience, might not be what everyone does their screens.

I use NOVUS #1 cleaner and polish on my windshields. It puts a coating on the windshield that lets stuff slide right off, and it makes cleaning it really easy. I have yet to get any of those small scratches that others complain about. It really works!

Another good option is Plexus. It's the only coating approved for use on stealth bomber plastic windshields

only way to get scratches out of polycarbonite is with polishing, and it's not easy.... start with meguires 105 and a med pad on an orbital and then move to meg's 205 and a soft pad...the novis step products also work well.

or take it to a body shop....

no topical spray will protect against scratching....Plexus is great for daily maintenance, GOOD microfiber will not hurt, as long as it's above a 600 GSM thread rating
