Help! Why Is My Print So Small?

Post by WhiteNoise »

Yikes!
My face is aging before its time! I saw it in me mirror(s)!!
What the halo, I can't get the print any larger than it is while I type or read your posts. Using my iPad Generation 3 or my Samsung Galaxy 4! Same small print (bordering on tiny, geez).

What can I do to Fix This Before I lose my eyesight - and turn me face to 90 from Squinting!?? Wrinkles...they are evil.
Not Funny, No Laughing, I Hear a Few of Yas....ok, it's a wee stupid kinda funny. Laugh, giggle if ya must. Then answer me, please! :geek:

You can't "stretch" the text bigger?

It's odd that this happened to an iPad and a Samsung at the same time--did you load a new app on both of them recently?

Appreciate your quick reply DailyR. ;)
Sure I can do that! stretch the screen (on both units) to spread out the lettering making it bigger, but then I have to slide the screen sideways L/R to read an entire sentences. That's a p.i.t.a.! I went to my iPad settings and enlarged the text, but no change. Depends on the site your on...I think.
But, I was wondering If there is a setting in our Forum User Contols that I'm not familiar with, or even know about that would adjust the size? What about that?
This is crazy. Thanks, Cross-eyed in NY.

I'm with you. This is the hardest forum I've been on to read on anything smaller than a laptop screen.

Is there a fix?

I see what you mean, particularly on threads that contain big pictures.

I've been using the "landscape" orientation, which helps some.

On my iPad 2 I find sometimes tapping quickly twice over the text will enlarge and centre the text.

Yes Drew that does work and results are the same as stretching the page larger with your fingers. In both cases the words run off the page. Thus forcing you to slide the page left and right to read it. Such a pain going side to side!

Actually, I've seen this before on multiple forums among users who like larger fonts.

That's why I tend to break up my larger sentences and put them on multiple lines.
(And y'all thought I was trying to be artsy :) )

Seems even the inbuilt text enlargement tool only works for inbuilt apps.

Personally I'd get a high resolution laptop, and then use ctrl+scroll wheel on mouse, to enlarge the text to your liking.

Hi Drew, thanks again. I will read all that informative info later :P Maybe I missed a setting? That would be good in this (my) case....maybe JohnL's too?

To 2yous, I must have 3 pair in different strengths, (local Costco and TV's QVC shop at home store sell them in packs of 6(?)...but I always choose my prescription pair. I'm getting my monies worth out of them. But! if my eyes changed since my last testing, it's not helping here while reading :(

Looks like 2016 will start off with Bang! bodily parts being examined, tested and probed. "Oh Happy Day!" Can I get a Whoop?
All those in favor of "Turning the Beat Around" to yester year, say Aye!
:) Pick Your year! Let's do it! 8)
