Another squeaky brake...

I've had my PCX 125 about 2 months now and I've done almost 900 miles - it is going in for the first service at the weekend. I've noticed in the last day or so that the rear brake is squeaking as I come to a stop.

I've tested stopping with front brake only and there's no squeak.

The squeak doesn't manifest itself until the very last second of braking when the bike comes to a halt.

Interestingly, I had to do an emergency stop last night as someone turned across me from the opposite direction as I moved into a filter lane, and thinking back I only applied the left brake lever, which locked the wheel up a bit. Could this have anything to do with it?

To be honest, the squeak isn't very loud and doesn't last very long, it's just annoying not knowing why it is happening.

Any ideas or advice would be great as this is my first bike and I've honestly no in-depth knowledge of how everything works...

Thanks in advance.

It could be some dirt in the drum. Best way to know for sure is take it apart, clean it, lube the parts that should be lubed, not the contact surfaces obviously, and put it all back together the way it came apart. I've never done such a thing myself (will get an opportunity soon I'm certain), and you might want someone else to do it depending on your level of expertise.

It could be nothing. I had a rear drum on my Kymco that squealed like a stuck pig. It was fine in the dry.
