I've bitten the bullet...after years of toying with the idea, and coaxing by friends and relatives...I'm going back to school...Just got accepted at a local Tech school for bike mechanic certification. 9 month program...then I'll have a baby...well no...I won't...

Cool. I have a degree in engineering (electrical, telco spec.) and a master in management but really enjoyed the two full semesters back in 2001 to get a bike mechanic certification. Iwas still racing back then (stock 600 and superstock 600) and financed my racing mainly from servicing other fellow riders bikes.
Even though I haven't renewed my racing licence for the last 8 years I still have returning clients (friends by long time now) who's bikes I service every now and then as a hobby.

Go for it, Paul! I went back at 36 - got my BA (Univ. of Il.) at 36 & MA (S. Il. Univ.) at 37 & even added a couple years of Doctorate study after that. Wouldn't trade the experience for anything!! Best of luck!

Thanks all. I'm looking forward to it. I have a Bachelor's degree, but I don't really use it.
Anyway, I wasn't sure I was going to go through with it until I walked into the workshop and it felt like I'd come home.

October 30th, so long as financial aid goes through.
