I took the new scoot out on its first longer run today, about 200 miles of going to Givi in Charlotte, NC, coming home, and running some errands. I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam. So, as always, YMMV.

When I left the house this morning, I had the stock short windscreen. The route was mainly up US 21 from Columbia, much of the route marked at 55 or 60 mph, and some of it with rolling hills. About 90 minutes into the trip, I was noticing my neck getting stiff from holding my head in the wind. I was also noticing bug hits and occasional sand churned up from vehicles in front of me.

The route home gave me a chance to play with setting the height on the Givi AirFlow screen in different conditions. And then, once I got home, I did some shopping. I think that on regular commutes (city streets), I'll leave it in its lowest position. When I was cruising down US 21 at 60-65 mph, about halfway up kept the wind blast off my face (so my neck wasn't having to fight the wind) but kept just enough noisy turbulence on the crown of my head to keep airflow going through the helmet's venting system without keeping me from hearing the iPod.

I got on the interstate (I-77, marked 70 mph, traffic moving 75) for about ten miles on the way home (and had no problem keeping in the flow, but it's not something I'll be doing often), and there the highest setting was what I needed.

If I lived somewhere colder, I might have gone with the fixed screen, which was wider and a fuzz taller than the adjustable screen. But here in the Deep South, I think the adjustable screen will give me what I want.

The box is the largest one I could put on with a light kit, a luggage rack, and a passenger back rest available. I'm a teacher, live 5 miles from the school, and will be commuting year-round on this scooter (as well as running errands, going to church, and doing a fair bit of shopping). I need a large box for carrying my school bag in the rain.

The screen & bag don't look bad together. I should take better pix, butit's now both dark and raining here. I'll just post the cell phone snap I took inside the Givi facility.

Nice setup. AF is a good WS for eliminating buffeting. Like the large case too.
