I did a first test day trip (150 miles) just barely down into the Ozarks a ways with a mixture of paved and unpaved roads on a mostly sunny day. Air temp 65 F. I hit Meramec State Park and Indian Creek Shooting range but the thrill was in getting there. I planned a route on paved roads but then went off of it as opportunities arose. The bike handled great on the roads I found. All of Indian Creek area is unpaved. Here are a few pictures including the Meramec river.

Maybe not, I've just read the sign properly. Perhaps it's just advisory :D

You could still shoot a 460 Weatherby and do some backstop damage I guess.

I guess I have about half a dozen trips to the closer Ozarks under my belt on the new bike but there are thousands of miles and hundreds of places to visit. We are planning about a trip a month through the summer and fall now that I have caught up on accessories. There are some real nice hotels in the towns were we will stay that are dedicated to touring tourists and adventure bikers especially. No one I have met is really roughing it although there are some tent campers and plenty of places to do that.

Butler just came out with a phone GPS application version of their map and a trip planner that integrates well.
