Hi there ladies and gents,

As requested in the noob-guide to the forum, allow me to introduce myself, and my beloved PCX150 Highwayman(woman) ;)

My name is Kruger and I reside in Pretoria, South Africa. I purchased my beautiful PCX named SCARLETT in June 2013 during which year she was mainly used as a means of commuting. Early 2014 I got a new job, and she henceforth became a weekend-soul rider ;) . She currently stands 10'000km strong, and looks better than a new bike because she gets pampered and massaged every weekend with good quality car wash, wax and polish!

I am a tad scared to take her on long trips due to my historical experience with 150cc-class scooters so you can imagine I treat her like a diamond! She is a Honda after all, so maybe I'll just start with a few shorter trips(100km) and keep a good eye on her condition...

She says, when she finally grows up next year July(she will be 3 years old) she wants to become a BMW R1200GS Adventure, but I dont want her to grow up so Ill get her a big brother GS instead, and keep her as young as she is :)

Now, without further due....

Here she is, after a good wash and wax, looking BETTER than new!
Image

Here she can be seen in one of her natural environments, having some precious bonding time with her winged-kin ;)
Image

And she definitely has the attitude to "roll with some big boys..."
Image

After a nice short sunday morning drive...
Image

And last but not least, here she can be seen with her winged sister. I must say...she drives better than what her sister flies ;)
Image

Well gents, consider my introduction complete :)

Kruger

Welcome to the forum. Cool plane and PCX. It almost looks like a Grumman Yankee but modernized with a three blade prop. What is it? I am a pilot too for about 15 years and 500 hours. I primarily flew a Piper Archer but just for fun.

It is called a Sling 2, which is the 2-seater variant of the Sling 4. Manufactured by The Airplane Factory at Tedderfield Airpark in Gauteng, South Africa. I do believe TAF(The Airplane Factory) has a plant set up in the US and in Aus as well, and they are very popular! Look'em up :)

Thanks for the welcome gents!

Last photo is a topper. Must be up there in the PCX photo-of-the-year-thread which doesn't actually exist yet (as far as i know).

Welcome mate, good to see another saffer join the team. Another member from SA posted some very nice pics of a white PCX recently.

Look forward to seeing more of the bike/plane comparos.

^^ Yes, it would make a very nice "Forum Banner" Photo :P

In the past, Dave (maddiedog) our forum owner started a survey asking us "if" we would like the idea of a photo banner on the top heading of the forum(s). Maybe now is the time to run that idea past ya'll again?

With the forum(s) growing steadily it might be worth pitching again.
That is entirely up to Dave to kickstart his survey again.
It went like this: http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f ... nner+photo

Yay. Another saffer. Not many of us on this forum.

You need to update your location by going to the user control panel on the top right

Ah a Light Sport airplane. I thought it nearly looked too large. That is great. I am a private pilot but when my medical expired I am a light sport pilot using a drivers license here. :P Nice cruising speed for LS. I like nose-draggers. I think there are some of them here.

Hi Kruger
Is that the standard windscreen that comes with the highwayman edition?

Very nice indeed. My pcx has the standard screen and i surely want a bit more protection from the wind. Honda quoted me R750 (about 60USD) for the highwayman screen, which i will certainly buy later on. I looked for GIVI 323 screen, however i cannot find a local supplier in South Africa and would thus have to import, besides the GIVI 323 screen goes for double the price of highwayman screen. How would you rate the wind protection when riding at speed?

Well.... when driving about 90-100km/h in the cruise, I barely notice it. Just a bit of buffeting air coming around the corners of the windshield but other than that I can only describe it as smooth sailing :)

I bought my screens and top box from these guys in Cape Town http://advrider.co.za/

Kruger, if you're looking to attach a 12V accessory to your battery, you can go this route http://optimate-battery-charger.co.za/

Thanks for the advice. But those just seem to be battery chargers? Im installing a socket for charging my phone while using it as a GPS on the bike ;) but those chargers might come in handy one day so Ill definitely look into getting one of those..
